The results of the Newcastle v Blackburn player ratings by fans.

Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Top of the pile for the supporters was Sean Longstaff (7.3). An excellent performance that was topped off with the opening goal that set Newcastle on their way to victory.

Next best was Fabian Schar (7.1), good in midfield and his excellent passing ability still showing when he had to drop back into defence.

Three of the rest of the starting eleven rated 6.0 or higher.

Federico Fernandez (6.6) holding it together at the back as others dropped like flies with injuries.

Matt Ritchie (6.5) impressive in his workrate and willingness to play every match, league and cup, to help the manager out.

Callum Roberts (6.2) having a dream debut when popping up with the second goal.

At the other end of the spectrum, Joselu (4.2) may have got the (controversial offside) goal but hardly figured in the match otherwise.

The other five starters all rated over 5.0 with average to not great performances.

Highest of those were Ciaran Clark (5.8) who did ok before being forced off with injury at half-time, whilst Freddie Woodman (5.8) was left exposed by his defence for both goals and didn’t do too badly.

Jacob Murphy (5.3) made the second goal and had the beating of his opponents for pace all night but other than that assist for Roberts, his final ball was lacking.

Completing the picture, full-backs Sterry (5.2) and Manquillo (5.1) put in a shift.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 8am Thursday:
