The results of the Newcastle v Blackburn player ratings by fans.

Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Only two of the starting eleven managed a rating of 6.0 or higher, as Newcastle were second best for most of the FA Cup third round tie.

The returning Florian Lejeune (6.2) put in a solid performance at the back and also reminded us of his ability to pass it out from the back.

Matt Ritchie (6.2) was the other, his normal non-stop workrate putting some of his teammates to shame, whilst he kept a cool head and tucked away the penalty.

However, substitute Jonjo Shelvey (6.3) actually got the highest rating, his 33 minutes was a number of levels above the dross that had gone before.

Four players were picked out as being particularly weak against Championship opposition.

Joselu (1.5) was woeful, control and finishing only two of the numerous weaknesses.

Jacob Murphy (2.1) was lucky to have Joselu on the pitch as his contribution was so poor, Kenedy (2.3) and Isaac Hayden (2.5) completing a shortlist of players who didn’t really look as though they even wanted to be on the pitch.

As for the rest, fourth best was Fabian Schar (5.1) who mixed good and bad passing with generally doing ok at the back, although he may have been at fault for the goal.

The other four players all rated above 4.0, with Freddie Woodman (4.8) not doing too bad, although he maybe could have done better with the goal on another day.

Sean Longstaff (4.7) was maybe the unluckiest player on the pitch, finally getting on the pitch again but eight changes and little help from those around him, meaning it was very difficult for him, plus difficult for fans to judge him.

Jamie Sterry (4.3) and Javier Manquillo (4.1) battled away in the full-back positions but lacked the quality needed to help improve the team play overall.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 7.30am Monday:
