Chesterfield confirm loan signing of Newcastle’s Josef Yarney
Newcastle United defender Josef Yarney has joined Chesterfield on loan.
The 21 year old had spent the first half of this season on loan at Morecambe, making 25 appearances.
On the surface it doesn’t appear to be a positive progression, swapping a League Two relegation battle with Morecambe for a National League one at Chesterfield.
However, arguably not that big a divide these days between the fourth and fifth tiers.
Deadline day is set to see a rash of loan deals for players heading out of Newcastle.
Callum Roberts has joined Colchester, whilst Jacob Murphy is set to join West Brom and Rolando Aarons & Achraf Lazaar are set to join Sheffield Wednesday. All deals until the end of the season.

“I’m really pleased to have joined Chesterfield.
