The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published.

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League matchdays by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.

A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.

After the weekend of matches, which included Newcastle’s defeat to West Ham, the rankings have now been updated.

Newcastle’s last five PL games have been (working backwards):

As you can see, Newcastle United have an impressive seven players in the Top 50, with Salomon Rondon the highest at number 28 (was no.17 last week) in the Sky Sports Power Rankings.

The only other NUFC player included is Ayoze Perez at 39 (27 last week).

The defeat to the Hammers has had a dramatic effect overall on Newcastle’s inclusion in the in-form list, especially when it comes to the more defensive positions.

Last week there were seven NUFC players in the Top 50, with five now dropping out altogether.
