Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

A bit of a case of the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to the fan ratings this time.

Newcastle well beaten by the final whistle and the supporter marks reflecting that.

Little doubt who was best for Newcastle, easily the top performer being Ki (6.8) in midfield. Kept trying to drive the team on, even though those around him were generally not up to it on the day.

Only three other players got reasonably respectable scores.

Martin Dubravka (5.7) left one on one far too many times and though he made one excellent save when Anderson was through, good finishing left him with little chance on the three goals.

Federico Fernandez (5.6) was the only defender holding it together on Saturday as those around him struggled.

Matt Ritchie (5.6) as regularly happens was the first to be subbed, a puzzle when he was actually one of the better players. Strange as well with him being suspended on Wednesday for Everton.

As for those who had poor/bad games, you had another four starters who rated above 4.0.

Fabian Schar (4.8) was at fault certainly for the first and third goals, whilst DeAndre Yedlin (4.5) was given a very tough time by £40m signing Felipe Anderson.

Salomon Rondon (4.3) put in the effort but struggled to make any impact, whilst Kenedy (4.2) didn’t have one of his better games.

That leaves us with three other starters.

Ayoze Perez (2.2) as is often the case, at the very bottom of the fan ratings. Had a shocker with the best chances falling to him and wasted.

Javier Manquillo (3.4) struggled throughout at the back, whilst Mohamed Diame (3.6) was totally ineffective as the visitors played through Newcastle’s ranks.

As for the subs, Jonjo Shelvey (3.8) tried to get on the ball but had little movement ahead of him, whilst Joselu (3.0) and Atsu (2.7) offered absolutely nothing off the bench.

  • Kenny

Lascelles, Shelvey, Dummett need to come back Asap

  • Gallowgate

    # boycott wolves

    • Themoscow72

One hundred came in late lets see if 200 will boycott.

      • WTF

see you cant count either LOL

        • Themoscow72

Neither can any one else I was with at the match nor protester Albert Stubbins who commented how bad it was . That was the worst protest in living memory. Magpie Group OUT.

          • Rabid Dog

Again with the lies. You need to look at the Magpie Groups Twitter feed, and the footage of those protesting then. WAAAAAAAAY more than 100.

  • Themoscow72

Sunday Mirror gave Perez our top mark a 6 and everything we created came through him. Rondon was far worse and missed three sitters and should have got on the end of a cross when it was easy to score. Yet you give Rondon who did next to nothing a higher score beyond belief. Rafa , Lascelles have asked for the fans support on Sunday. Fifty thousand will roar them onto victory still 35 pairs of seats left in the normal part of ground. Be there Sunday 4.00pm Wolves bringing near full allocation.

    • wtf

    • Rabid Dog

The Mirror gave Dubravka, Ki, Shelvey and Rondon a 6 as well. The rest were given a 5. You are trying to imply by omission of the rest of the information that Perez was alone in scoring 6, which he wasn’t. There we go again with the lies.

We all know you have a love in for him, but if Perez hadn’t made himself the focus of the lack of goals problem we have, by sticking his fingers in his ears as a celebration then I would agree that he is being treated and reviewed unfairly. However 1 goal in 12 starts as a goal scorer hardly warrants the sort of arrogance he displayed that day.

      • Themoscow72

Indeed Perez had the top mark so it was not lies. The way this site carries on they nearly give him the bottom mark regardless of how he plays. My point was the papers see a different game as does Rafa.

        • Rabid Dog

No. Your point was the Sunday Mirror (single paper, not papers) gave him 6 points.

        • Rabid Dog

I have been unable to find any other source other than the Mirror, who rated Perez higher than a 5. Ki overwhelmingly has been rated the highest.

        • Toontaff

Never mind, if we give him the bottom mark it gives you something to lick off!

      • molend

Maybe that says more about the Sunday Mirror than about Perez. You obviously like the lad. Fair enough. But he had an absolute stinker on Saturday

        • Rabid Dog

Me? Not sure what I’ve said to indicate that. I used to think he had potential but he just hasn’t developed. Right now he needs benching.

          • molend

            Yes, I’ve already apologized

          • Rabid Dog

            Ha! Hadn’t seen the edit

  • mentalman

Watch the first goal again, fernandez loses chicarito who then runs in to space left by schar marking arnautovic and diame and yedlin are standing watching, in the build up to that goal the only one doing what he’s meant to be doing is schar

    • Rabid Dog

Yedlin should have done a lot more for that goal. Stood there ball watching.

      • Kenny

        Back 4 totally outclassed

        • mentalman

We’ve got big problems at full back, particularly right back

    • Vodkamagpie

Schar should of switched to Hernandez when he clearly free, Fernandez would of covered schar’s attacker.

      • mentalman

Fernandez was nowhere near arnautovic or anyone else and had no chance of getting to him had schar left him unmarked 6yds from goal to then try to get to chicarito.

        • Vodkamagpie

Arnautovic was right in front of Fernandez when Hernandez touched the ball, watch the replay 20 times, like I did

          • mentalman

I have and i still can’t blame schar for the goal. Schar was the only defender through the whole sequence marking an opposition player and doing his job

          • Damon Horner

Arguably could Schar have stayed in the defensive shape and played offside?

          • Vodkamagpie

Could be a number of errors, Fernandez lost his man, schar could of taken some initiative to cover, yedlin could of drifted in more central, rafa could stick to a back three etc etc

  • Kenny

Perez should have saved the 1st goal,
he does everything else according to the Mad Monk

    • Kneebotherm8

Perez only managed to get 2.2 cos Mugpie voted about 100 times………

  • Mrkgw

Ritchie rated as being one of the better players and yet, was subbed! Bizarre.

    • Damon Horner

Ritchie wasn’t great for me, I personally reckon Rafa sees him as a defensive winger, Atsu, if little else, offers more pace.
