The results of the Newcastle v Liverpool player ratings by fans.
Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.
Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.
Martin Dubravka (6.7) maybe could have done better on the fourth goal but did his best to stem the tide, making some smart saves as many of those in front of him went AWOL at times.
Only two other players rated 5.0 or better, with Matt Ritchie (5.7) putting in a few excellent early crosses, then any time when Newcastle did get forward after that, he was usually involved. Worked hard as always on top of that.
Federico Fernandez (5.4) wasn’t great but now wonder with what was happening around him, did ok.
As for weak links in the team, the fans came up with five players who didn’t rate 4.0 or better.
Very bottom of the pile was Joselu (2.3), missed the target with Newcastle’s best two chances and was hopeless overall.
Kenedy (2.8) did make some runs but ended in dead ends, you could maybe argue he suffered most from lack of support and other options going forward.
Jamaal Lascelles (3.0) gifted the first goal and had a game littered with mistakes, whilst Yoshinori Muto (3.6) scampered about to little effect – not exactly helped by Joselu. Meanwhile Isaac Hayden (3.7) found it tough coming back into the side for this game.
Three players who were deemed to do a little better were Paul Dummett (4.6) and DeAndre Yedlin (4.4) at the back, whilst Mohamed Diame (4.2) was overwhelmed in midfield.
(***Apologies but the automated external system we use, hasn’t included sub Sean Longstaff in the options)
