I’m not doing the 11 minute protest against Mike Ashley for The Magpie Group, I’m doing it for myself

May as well get this out the way this morning…I have been following this club for as long as I can remember, it’s the one constant thing that never changes.‏

St James Park holds some of the greatest memories that I’ll ever have.

It’s a place that when I enter, for some reason reminds me of late grandad, as before he got ill and passed away we took him to a game when we battered Ipswich in the League Cup and he loved it.

So agreeing to miss 101 minutes of football in the next two weeks isn’t an easy ask, even if it doesn’t sound a lot.

The question is why am I doing it?

Well I’m not doing it for the Magpie group, I’m doing for myself.

It is because I want Mike Ashley either to start behaving like a fit and proper owner of my football club and following up on his own promises that Rafa Benitez will get “every penny” generated to improve Newcastle United.

Or to do the decent thing for everyone and accept one of the offers that have been placed on his table and again in his words “will only sell to someone willing to take the club forward”…….another statement another lie.

I get why folk will attend Wolves so I’ll not even push or talk much about that next week.

But I think today could suit each and every party that wants to see the end of Mike Ashley.

It’s not about Rafa Benitez or the players, it’s certainly not about “he’s got your money” so what’s the point.

It’s about a show of strength.

A United fanbase basically telling him either put up or sell up as 11 minutes could in time turn into 90 minutes on a permanent basis.

You hear fans actions never achieve anything…

Relegated to the Championship we play Spurs last home game of the season hump them 5 – 1 the whole ground that day convinced Rafa Benitez to stay at Newcastle United the rest is history as they say

Enjoy your day UNITED.
