Fans choice of Newcastle team v Wolves

We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Wolves?

We put together a list of the 21 players who could potentially be selected for this game.

The Newcastle boss has to make at least one change with Fabian Schar suspended after his fifth yellow card.

Rafa does though get back Matt Ritchie who was the first to pick up five yellows and missed Everton on Wednesday.

Darlow and Hayden are reported to be out injured still, whilst it is too early for Sterry and Lejeune, although Rafa Benitez did indicate that if it was essential, the Frenchman could play – but he won’t risk him yet.

Meanwhile, so long as they came through training ok on Saturday, both Paul Dummett and Kenedy will be available once again.

Interesting selection from the Newcastle fans this time as there were some positive choices to be made.

There were still though seven Newcastle players getting at least 90% of Newcastle fans selecting them.

These were Kenedy (90%), Dubravka (98%), Rondon (98%), Ki (94%), Yedlin (95%), Fernandez (97%) and Lascelles (97%).

Then coming back into the fan choice team, you had another two well supported selections in Matt Ritchie (85%) and Paul Dummett (77%).

Then it got a little bit more competitive.

The final two choices battled out between a trio of players: Mohamed Diame (68%), Yoshinori Muto (60%) and Jonjo Shelvey (59%). Shelvey missing out by a fraction even though he had almost two-thirds of fans selecting him, either ahead of Diame or Muto.

Newcastle fans not going for the three/five at the back formation which worked well at Burnley and Everton, Ciaran Clark next highest but with only 30% backing to play along with (or instead of) Fernandez and Lascelles.
