Newcastle fans had Salomon Rondon to thank for sending them home happy on Saturday night.

A man of the match performance produced two goals that meant NUFC are out of the relegation zone heading into this latest international break

The first one was a good team goal, Rondon winning the original header when the ball was sent long, then it was he who got on the end of DeAndre Yedlin’s excellent run and pull back, the loan striker netting at the second attempt after Begovic blocked the first.

However, it was the second goal that took things to another level.

As well as proving to be the winning goal, it was also a top notch strike.

A quality 50 yard ball from Ki, Kenedy chests down and then fires in the kind of brilliant cross that has been all too rare from NUFC this season.

Salomon Rondon then meeting it with an even better bullet header.

Sky Sports have made that goal one of five nomination for PL goal of the weekend.

Who scored the best goal of the weekend?

Salomon Rondon (NEWCASTLE vs Bournemouth)

Felipe Anderson (Huddersfield vs WEST HAM)

Xherdan Shaqiri (LIVERPOOL vs Fulham)
