Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.
Nice to see some real competition for Saturday’s man of the match.
Four Newcastle players scored 7.7 or better and this includes two of the subs!
Top of the pile was Ki Sung-yeung (8.1), he won the free-kick and then put in the perfect delivery for Perez’ winner – but more than that he got Newcastle playing some football at last.
Tied in second place were fellow sub Fabian Schar (7.8) who was excellent alongside Fernandez when replacing Lascelles, helping Newcastle play the ball out from the back.
Martin Dubravka (7.8) yet again excellent, very much deserving of his clean sheet.
Whilst Fernandez (7.7) was once more the model of consistency as he marshalled the defence.
Elsewhere in the team we had five players who scored less than 6.0.
These included the three players forced off with injury – Lascelles (5.4), Muto (5.9) and Shelvey (5.4). All of them struggling on the day to make an impact.
Mohamed Diame (5.4) yet again disappointed whilst Rondon (5.8) was clearly not match fit.
Kenedy (6.9) was the pick of the other players, whilst match winner (6.6) massively boosted is rating with the goal.
Ritchie (6.4) and Yedlin (6.0) completing the picture with committed but limited performances.
