Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.
Plenty of high ratings but there was only ever going to be one man of the match.
The only way Salomon Rondon (9.2) could have topped his performance would have been if he had clinched his hat-trick late on, when Begovic diverted his sot past the post.
Three other players were then picked out by Newcastle fans as the supporting cast.
Dubravka (8.3) and Fernandez (8.3) were excellent once again, the pair a model of consistency in this difficult start to the season.
Next up was Ki (8.1), looking every inch the Premier League regular he was at Swansea. Linking play and always willing to be available for the ball.
Another four players had a fan rating of 7.1 or higher, very good performances.
Fabian Schar (7.5) the pick of this quartet as he followed up his encouraging sub display against Watford, with another positive one in this one alongside Fernandez.
Kenedy (7.3) created the winner and looks to be getting there at last in terms of form, whilst full-backs Dummett (7.2) and Yedlin (7.1) did their bit.
Paul Dummett with some great blocks, whilst DeAndre Yedlin did ok at the back and laid on the opening goal for Rondon.
The other trio didn’t have bad games but there is room for improvement.
Ayoze Perez (6.1) scoring the very lowest, missing a one on one with the keeper and once again a bit too keen on looking for free-kicks.
Mohamed Diame (6.3) is still nowhere near what we saw late last season, whilst Matt Ritchie (6.6) gave plenty of effort but is struggling for creativity in the final third.
