Newcastle 2 Bournemouth 1 – Match ratings of all NUFC players
Newcastle 2 Bournemouth 1 – Saturday 10 November 3pm
We asked Jonathan Drape-Comyn to give us his match ratings after this afternoon’s match.
Newcastle winning 2-1 to make it consecutive victories.
The club now 14th in the table after six points in eight days.
Dubravka 8 – Couldn’t do anything about the goal and I doubt that a player on the line would have made a difference either. A few good saves too.
Yedlin 7 – A good attacking outlet as per usual and looked ok at the back.
Fernandez 9 – Looks like he’s been playing at the back for NUFC for years.
Fits in really well and looks like a good addition to the squad.
Assuming we stay up, it would be interesting to see who would be dropped between Lascelles and Lejeune.
Schar 7 – I was worried about him today as I haven’t been totally convinced so far but he did well.
I think we are lucky that Fernandez has come into the team and looked so comfortable.
Dummett 8 – Had a really good game. didn’t put a foot wrong defensively.
Ki 9 – I was worried he wouldn’t step up today but he certainly did, dominated the midfield.
Shelvey is a big miss when he is not available but Ki was brilliant and was my man of the match up until the last 20 mins (Rondon’s workrate and defensive effort in the last 20 made it a complete performance on his part).
Diame 8 – His best performance of the season so far.
Looked solid, got around the pitch and was more calm on the ball than usual.
Ritchie 5 – One of the poorest displays I can remember seeing from him.
You still got that minimum amount of effort from him that you always expect but I think he’d hold his hands up and say he had a bad game.
Perez 5 – I was waiting to see if he would turn up today after his embarrassing celebration last week.
He didn’t turn up.
Instead, as per usual, he ambled around the pitch with his hands on his hips, throwing his arms in the air and spending more time complaining to the referee than actually putting in some graft.
Kenedy 7 – Starting, slowly, to look like the Kenedy of last season.
He was dead on his feet after 60 minutes but that’s all I ask of Kenedy.
Rondon 10 – The complete centre-forward performance.
He ran the line, won headers, held the ball up, won his fair share in his own box, took his chances and was brilliant all round.
He even lasted the 90 minutes. If that performance isn’t a one-off then we will stay up.
Subs not on long enough to judge – Atsu, Hayden and Clark
Lee Probert – The worst referee in the history of the Premier League. I have never seen him have a good game.
