Martin Tyler has been answering questions about the Premier League.

Specifically, the respected commentator has been asked about the battle at the bottom of the table.

When it comes to Newcastle United, Martin Tyler declares ‘…he will find a way, as the last two results have shown.’

That pretty much sums up Newcastle United’s situation.

Rather than being able to point to a strong team or a striker that should get 15-20 goals, neutrals always pick out Rafa Benitez as the factor that could/should save Newcastle from relegation.

Whilst it is great to have such a respected manager these days, after having experienced Pardew, Carver and McClaren.

You do get the feeling that this just encourages Mike Ashley to push things even further in terms of blocking proper investment in the team.

The £20m+ profit in the summer transfer window telling us everything.

Martin Tyler doing a question and answer session for Sky Sports:

‘What’s your thoughts on the newly promoted clubs?’

“Wolves clearly have made an impressive start.

“I have been watching their games closely knowing that I will see them in the flesh for the first time this coming Sunday (Wolves home to Huddersfield).

“I saw Fulham recently at Huddersfield and they did not do themselves justice.

“We will have to wait and see how Claudio Ranieri can improve their fortunes.

“Cardiff City seem favourites to go down, but Neil Warnock will use that as a positive and if anyone can inspire a successful fight to stay up, he can.”

‘Do you think Newcastle United will stay up?’

“I am sure Newcastle will stay up.

“They have one of the most experienced managers in the business.

“I have been lucky enough to spend time in the past with Rafa Benitez and he will find a way, as the last two results have shown.”

    Love will find a way

  • Kenny

Rafa will keep us up but he won`t stand for anymore schit from the Fat Rat,
unlike the 50,000 walking dead that go to every home game.
He will leave next May & that will be followed by another relegation under a
    patsy manager

    • Leazes.

If that happens then it will be enough for a large portion of fans…. Ashley is already struggling to fill every seat, he’s got 6000 practically free seats on level 7…… where to next…. free tickets for the student population?

The boycotts started in year 2 of his ownership…. some of us didn’t go in silence as Douglas and the Chronicle presented the same 50k turning up….. this is a different crowd who have been waiting for an upturn which never came.

You don’t have to fool all of the people all of the time…. just different people at different times.

      • Toontaff

        …SD mugs?

  • Leazes.

What Ashley has produced here is a bread and butter squad WITHOUT a top striker or game changer, even the Pardew Squads had a better chance of surviving the demands of the asset strip…..

….. Pardew was in control of the squad as its VALUE position plunged from 7th to 12th as the owner squeezed the club again and again….. Rafa took control of a 15th placed squad which the owner has now taken to 17th….

Tyler is right….it is all down to Benitez to save the club….

Its a game of Russian Roulette that the owner has played every season….

….he couldn’t have done it without Douglas and Ryder at the Chronicle…..

    • Billmag

Well said 👍. Why doesn’t the Magpie Group demonstrate in front of their offices.

      • Peaky

Good idea if only to watch Ryder 💩 himself….

        • Billmag

Placards with which side of the fence are you on the fans or the regime you choose.

      • JohnnyH

Good idea, the Magpie Group should at least be highlighting the abdication of journalistic responsibility by the Chronicle, to report what has happened to the club under Ashley.

        • Themoscow72

Yes they should report that he provided us with an interest free loan and has yet to take a penny out in wages, dividends or bonuses. Should be on the back page every day to remind the protesters of his kindness.

          • JohnnyH

            Monk you are hilarious.

          • drc74

your so right Spxnkster, how many owners buy their clubs a dept store, think of all them lifts u can now travel in at HoF

        • Billmag

          Correct 👍.

      • Leazes.

They paint themselves as the protagonists for change when the McKeag clan were ousted…..

….. they replaced very right wing elitist liberals with a theological conservative capitalist coup d’etat. Some people hold them on a pedestal for that stance, mostly themselves though.

The chronicle is a daily update of the matchday programme, …. Gibson is revered, not by me though he panders to the ideology of the single messiah….. the great leader or the bandy legged centre forward…. too backward looking to ‘salad days’ which never really were much to hold up to scrutiny.

….its tough when the problem presents itself as the saviour…

  • Peaky

Yes we will stay up but then what…..stop,rewind and start all over again….it’s all shyte…

  • Paul Patterson

Rinse and repeat every August ..

    • Peaky

😂😂 different words, same meaning at exactly the same time.

  • JohnnyH

11 years of evidence would suggest that Ashley will $hit on Rafa in January, then Rafa will leave in May.
Step in Steve Bruce or similar.

    • Peaky

Aye Johnny….Mrs Doubtfire has been making noises he’s desperate to be back in the PL asap…

      • Toontaff

I’m going to grow some cabbages, ready!

    • Leazes.

Rafa would have to mad to stay with these jokers….

…. but these jokers Ashley and Charnley and Bishop have the chronicle….. and the chronicle has a hundred villages…..

      • Kneebotherm8

        And a hundred village idiots..

  • Themoscow72

Rafa will sign a new contract providing the fans stick with the team and we stay up.
He has called for the fans support so get your tickets for Wolves as still some left.

    • Squintytoonarmy

Still some left – thought you had snapped them all up !!

      • Carverlier football

I’m imagining an empty stadium with just one row containing Monk, Harvey the rabbit, Tyler Durden and the bartender from the Shining…

  • Spoon_Army

If anyone can find a way it will be Rafa, even if it is 4th bottom come May. He will leave the club with his head held high.

  • Carverlier football

That’s what Ashley is banking on. Shame he won’t be here next season…
