The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published.

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League matchdays by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.

A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.

After this latest round of matches which included Newcastle’s win over Watford, the rankings have now been updated.

Newcastle’s last five PL games have been (working backwards):

Newcastle 1 Watford 0

Southampton 0 Newcastle 0

Newcastle 0 Brighton 1

Man Utd 3 Newcastle 2

Newcastle 0 Leicester 2

sky sportsJonjo Shelvey had featured the past two weeks, at number 33 two weeks ago and then featuring at number 42 in last week’s Sky Sports Power Rankings.

After a disappointing first half on Saturday and then forced off injured, the midfielder has dropped out of the Sky Sports form list altogether.

However, interesting to see that another Newcastle player has made the latest list, Kenedy at number 47.

He has started all of these last five PL matches and three games ago he scored and had a good all round match at Old Trafford.

Maybe the moment though that got him into this top 50, was on Saturday when with the score 1-0, Kenedy got back at the last second to prevent Andre Gray scoring what looked a certain equaliser.
