We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Watford?

We put together a list of the 23 players who could potentially be selected for this 3pm Saturday afternoon kick-off.

The response was, as usual, pretty overwhelming.

Despite still no win after 10 Premier League matches, most of the players are seen as automatic selections.

Which tells you everything about the squad strength, or rather the lack of it.

Six Newcastle players getting at least 91% of Newcastle fans selecting them.

These were Shelvey (98%), Lascelles (94%), Dubravka (97%), Yedlin (93%), Dummett (91%) and Ritchie (93%).

Then another four had 82% or better support – Fernandez (84%), Rondon (88%), Kenedy (88%) and Muto (82%) also overwhelming selections.

There is one big change though this week.

Last week for Southampton, the final space in the team went to Mohamed Diame (52%) with just a very small majority of fans selecting him.

However, this time, he has further slipped and ended up with only 41% support, just edged out by Ki Sung-yeung (42%).

Fabian Schar next highest wit 25% and then Jacob Murphy 23%.

Ayoze Perez yet again not a popular choice with fans, receiving only 17% support, just behind Sean Longstaff (18%) who was excellent on Friday night as the NUFC second string hammered Manchester United.

This is how the team would look based on the Newcastle fan votes (percentage support for all players below):

  • BigHairyDog

I can’t believe people prefer Ritchie and Kenedy to Murphy.

  • Leazes.

It doesn’t matter how you rearrange the deckchairs its still the Titanic.

  • Foggy

Perez will be in. Rafa has a mindblock when it comes to him. One of his huge failings as he’s done nothing this season.

    • ScreamStevie

      Yeah, absolutely nothing…haha

  • nufcslf

Another home loss on the way, but Diame and Perez should be dropped anyway.

  • Wezza

Will this be the in game chatter page where we can witness another defeat while 50k stay quiet?

  • Mike D

Come on, who voted for Joselu?

  • Wezza

I wonder if Lascelles will get booed.

  • Wezza

The FCB is smiling and joking apparently.

  • Wezza

Now we cant string 2 passes together. Watford look much better quality, perhaps because their chairman allows the clubs’ money to be spent.

  • Mirandinha9

The positive reception for Lascelles in the ground personifies how lenient the sheep are. He crapped on us during the week, with his endorsement of Cashley. The sheep are never going to go against this regime. 35,000 would still go to SJP even if we were non league. Blind loyalty which Cashley constantly exploits.

    • Wezza

Not even one Ashley chant. says it all.

  • Wezza

Muto injured, Perez on. Only reason its goalless is because Watfords finishing has been poor.

    • nufcslf

Exactly. Why anyone would pay money to watch this sh*t is anybody’s guess. Could quite easily turn this off and not even bother looking for the result.

      • Wezza

I used to get excited for us playing knowing our hierarchy are doing everything they can for us to be a success. This regime just wants to avoid relegation and for the FCB to pocket hundreds of millions year by year. If we avoid relegation then what? Next season… avoid relegation.
To cut a long story short I just don’t get excited anymore. All love for our club has almost evaporated but I do still care.

        • nufcslf

Terrible when you know you care…we all do really…and one person can squash it all…Sick of this at present though. Now injuries adding up. Well done Cashley.

  • 45709

Muto off for Perez…. definitely a win now(said the Watford fans!)

  • 45709

    Schar, has got this one

    • Wezza

      Lascelles injured?

      • killymag

Infected with the Fat Mans spu#k ?

        • Wezza

          Most likely.

      • 45709

Yeah, now shelvey. On sky commentary they mentioned someone else too, not going well at all

  • Wezza

MonkMoscow will blame the protesting fans and the negativity.

  • Wezza

We are doomed. Shelvey injured, Lascelles and Muto went off injured as well.
Good thing we have a big squad. Oh wait.

    • 45709

Ritchie it says was seen limping at end of first half

  • panther

    Die evil cancerous leach

  • Wezza

    Wow! Perez to the rescue!
Monkmoscow will be wetting his pants.

    • 45709

I best eat my words lol

  • Wezza

Of course the PR message now will be:

We all need to be together, stand together and get behind the team, not protest.

    • Wezza

“We need to stay together and support the team and not protest”

FCB: “We won we will be fine, no spending in January Penfold.”
      Penfold: “Yes boss”

  • DC1964

Watford just missed a sitter! Phew!

  • 45709

A win! Cost half the squad in injuries like

  • panther

We should start a thing when we oust an Ashley, beat them only half to death and burn the other half
