Fans choice of Newcastle team v Watford today – One big change
We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Watford?
We put together a list of the 23 players who could potentially be selected for this 3pm Saturday afternoon kick-off.
The response was, as usual, pretty overwhelming.
Despite still no win after 10 Premier League matches, most of the players are seen as automatic selections.
Which tells you everything about the squad strength, or rather the lack of it.
Six Newcastle players getting at least 91% of Newcastle fans selecting them.
These were Shelvey (98%), Lascelles (94%), Dubravka (97%), Yedlin (93%), Dummett (91%) and Ritchie (93%).
Then another four had 82% or better support – Fernandez (84%), Rondon (88%), Kenedy (88%) and Muto (82%) also overwhelming selections.
There is one big change though this week.
Last week for Southampton, the final space in the team went to Mohamed Diame (52%) with just a very small majority of fans selecting him.
However, this time, he has further slipped and ended up with only 41% support, just edged out by Ki Sung-yeung (42%).
Fabian Schar next highest wit 25% and then Jacob Murphy 23%.
Ayoze Perez yet again not a popular choice with fans, receiving only 17% support, just behind Sean Longstaff (18%) who was excellent on Friday night as the NUFC second string hammered Manchester United.
This is how the team would look based on the Newcastle fan votes (percentage support for all players below):
Here is the percentage (rounded up or down to nearest whole number) support for each Newcastle player from the thousands of votes cast:
