Fans choice of Newcastle team v Burnley – Overwhelming

We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Burnley?

We put together a list of the 20 players who could potentially be selected for this 8pm Monday night kick-off.

The choice of the starting eleven was overwhelming in all but one position, with very few supporters doubting which players should make up most of the side.

Any significant competition for places in the team smashed by injuries to Muto, Shelvey and Lascelles who look to only have an outside chance of making the bench, whilst Lejeune, Dummett and Sterry are definitely out.

Eight Newcastle players getting at least 95% of Newcastle fans selecting them.

These were Kenedy (99%), Dubravka (100%), Schar (96%), Rondon (100%), Ki (98%), Yedlin (98%), Fernandez (96%) and Ritchie (95%).

Then another two selections had at least 82% of supporters picking them, Perez (82%) and Diame (87%).

The only contentious position was left-back in Paul Dummett’s absence.

Ciaran Clark (51%) getting just over half the fans selecting him, whilst Maquillo had 22% and Lazaar 15%.

This is how the team would look based on the Newcastle fan votes (percentage support for all players below):
