The contract situation of all 30 Newcastle players is below.

Thursday morning bringing a club statement confirming that Jamaal Lascelles has signed a new deal, which sees him contracted until the end of June 2024.

So what is the state of play with contracts at the minute.

What is the good and bad news when it comes to which individuals shortly see their contracts run out – plus those who have plenty years left to go.

Jamaal Lascelles is actually way out on his own, he was the only player contracted beyond June 2022 and now he has a deal which extends two years further into the future than any of the other Newcastle players.

In fact, at the end of this season only four other Newcastle players will have more than two years left on their NUFC contracts.

The likes of Diame, Kenedy and Rondon see their deals at St James Park run out at the end of June 2019.

Whilst Newcastle’s best player so far this season, Federico Fernandez, will only have one year left on his deal. He will only be aged 30 at that point, with plenty years ahead of him as a centre-back.

Meanwhile, Jonjo Shelvey is clearly Newcastle’s best player in terms of midfield and attack, he will ave only two years left on his current deal at the end of this season.

Dates when Newcastle players see their current contract run to:

30 June 2019:

Mohamed Diame, Jack Colback, Kenedy, Salomon Rondon, Callum Roberts

30 June 2020:

Federico Fernandez, Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot, Joselu, Javier Manquillo, Freddie Woodman, Ki Sung-yeung, Jamie Sterry

30 June 2021:

Fabian Schar, Achraf Lazaar, Henri Saivet, DeAndre Yedlin, Rolando Aarons, Christian Atsu, Jonjo Shelvey,  Ciaran Clark, Dwight Gayle, Isaac Hayden, Ayoze Perez, Matt Ritchie

30 June 2022:

Martin Dubravka, Paul Dummett, Florian Lejeune, Yoshinori Muto

30 June 2024:

Jamaal Lascelles

  • Leazes.

‘New Six Year Deal’ sounds more like spin than ‘One Year Extension’

  • 30 June 2021:

Achraf Lazaar, Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons, Christian Atsu, Ciaran Clark, Dwight Gayle, Isaac Hayden, Ayoze Perez, Matt Ritchie

Who handed out those contracts?? Absolute disgrace. 3 more years of Lazaar, Aarons, Atsu, Clark, Hayden, Gayle and Ritchie all unless somebody is willing to match our wages

The one we need to be concerned about is Woodman, 18 months to go, reportedly unhappy with how he little football he has played this season after Benitez vetoed a loan move… a prospective top goalkeeper we are going to lose. Never mind though Elliott and Darlow will sign new deals.

I’ve no doubt we will be announcing new deals for the Hoss and SloMo as a reward for how hard they train and follow instructions.

Bang on,he’s going to play for the full England team in a couple of seasons,I’d get shot of Elliot in Jan’ n rotate Woodman n Darlow on the bench for 1st team ?

We’ve already let one gk go who wasn’t good enough for our academy but good enough for man utds, woodman will be the next
