Newcastle United star has international matches cancelled as FA suspended
Newcastle winger Christian Atsu has had a wasted journey back home to Ghana.
Ghana had games home and away against Sierra Leone organised for Friday and Tuesday.
However, both of them have been cancelled now.
The Confederation of African Football (Caf) have called off the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches because the Sierra Leone FA are suspended.
Instead of playing two vital qualifiers, instead Christian Atsu and his Ghanaian teammates will play a friendly on Friday against Ghana club side Asante Kotoko, before then presumably heading back to their respective clubs, with no replacement game arranged as yet on the Tuesday.
