We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Southampton?
We put together a list of the 24 players who could potentially be selected for this 3pm Saturday afternoon kick-off.
The response was pretty overwhelming.
Ten players seen as automatic selections, with only the one player/position in doubt.
Eight Newcastle players getting at least 91% of Newcastle fans selecting them.
These were Shelvey (99%), Lascelles (98%), Dubravka (98%), Kenedy (96%), Muto (91%), Yedlin (95%), Dummett (94%) and Ritchie (93%).
Then just behind those, you have Fernandez (86%) and Rondon (85%) also as overwhelming selections.
Rafa Benitez confirmed on Friday that Rondon is fit enough to be named in the squad today but it remains to be seen whether the manager thinks he is fit enough to start.
The final space in the team going to Mohamed Diame (52%) with just a very small majority of fans selecting him.
As alternatives, next best was Ki (25%) and Sean Longstaff (18%).
When you are bottom of the league with no wins from nine and yet there is so little debate about who should and shouldn’t be in the squad, this tells you everything about how weak the squad is.
