Instead it was two great goals from Sterling and Walker that won the game.

Amongst his goalscoring records, Alan Shearer’s 26o PL goals stands untouched so far, despite retiring over 12 years ago.
Of those still playing in the Premier League regularly, Aguero is the closest challenger, joint 10th with 146 PL goals but no chance of catching Shearer.
The mutual appreciation society in operation with Shearer having praised the Man City striker and Sergio Aguero giving the perfect response.
Alan Shearer recently said:
“Sergio Aguero is now on nine Premier League hat-tricks and only two behind me.
“He is the best foreign player to ever play in the Premier League.
“A great centre-forward with no weaknesses.”
Sergio Aguero taking to official Manchester City site:
“It was very flattering to hear Alan Shearer holding me up in such a high regard.
“He was a fantastic striker and there’s good reason he’s the Premier League’s top scorer.
“His words encourage me to stay on course and keep scoring goals for City.
“Obviously I hope I reach that mark (of overtaking Shearer’s achievements)!
“That said, it’s not something I’d lose sleep over.
“If it happens, it’s because the team is doing well, and that’s what matters.
“Meanwhile, the record will stay in very good hands.”
