Fans choice of Newcastle team v Crystal Palace

We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Crystal Palace?

We put together a list of the 25 players who could potentially be selected for this 3pm Saturday afternoon kick-off.

Yet again, the same seven players getting 90% or better backing from the Newcastle supporters: Shelvey (98%), Lascelles (95%), Dubravka (96%), Yedlin (92%), Ritchie (94%), Dummett (93%) and Rondon (95%).

Whilst some are positive choices, you have to also accept that the strength of the support is often due to next to no competition.

Such as Joselu only getting 8% to rival Rondon, Manquillo on 2% to challenge Yedlin, and Lazaar on 1% competing with Dummett.

The less decisive choices making up the rest of the team see Kenedy (81%) and Fernandez (77%) chosen by around four in every five fans.

Murphy (22%) and Atsu (7%) offer minimal competition for the wing positions and despite disappointing so far this season, Newcastle have to persevere with Kenedy.

Centre-back is one of the few positions where there is half-decent competition, Fernandez has impressed though and comfortably keeps out Clark (22%) and Schar (19%).

Diame (73%) hasn’t reached the heights of earlier this year but Ki is way behind on 22%, whilst Hayden (4%) was shocking last weekend against Arsenal.

The final player to make the fans’ team is Yoshinori Muto (49%).

Last week Ayoze Perez edged it but after yet another very poor display last weekend, fans would rather blindly hope Muto can show something if given the chance.
