Disgraceful lies as newspaper headline claims ‘Newcastle fans turn on Rafa Benitez after Leicester’

Rafa Benitez watched on as his team made it four defeats in four Premier League games at St James Park this season.

Newcastle very much the poor relations when compared to Leicester City.

Rafa’s biggest signing at Newcastle is £12m Matt Ritchie who was brought in for the Championship campaign.

In the time Rafa has been at St James Park, Leicester have signed 14 players for transfer fees bigger than Ritchie’s.

There was a lot of anger and frustration at St James Park but not aimed at Rafa Benitez.

Before the match, there were protests against the poisonous ownership of the club, Mike Ashley ordering his people in to take down Rafa Benitez and Kevin Keegan banners outside the Gallowgate.

Newcastle fans know the position Rafa Benitez is in, constantly undermined by Mike Ashley, he has been left with a team/squad that is clearly one of the worst three in the Premier League.

Today was further evidence of that, nobody on the bench where any sane person would say the manager had made a big mistake leaving them out.

At the end of the game, the Newcastle fans who still remained simply filed out of St James Park, no anger at all towards the manager.

During the game Newcastle fans did show anger and frustration when booing the substitution of Matt Ritchie but that is hardly new. Ritchie is popular due to his workrate but it is the fifth time in six starts this season that he has been subbed, with Newcastle fans booing the decision most times.

However, that is a million miles away from saying Newcastle fans were booing the manager, never mind claiming that after the game Newcastle fans ad ‘turned on Rafa Benitez’…

However, that is exactly what The Telegraph disgracefully did, putting up this headline:

‘Frustrated Newcastle United fans turn on Rafa Benitez after limp display against Leicester City’

To come up with this headline is totally embarrassing for The Telegraph and in no way at all represents the actual content of the article, which simply refers to fans displeasure at the substitution

At no time does writer Luke Edwards claim Newcastle fans were turning on the manager after the game, instead making it clear that it was Mike Ashley who was the sole target of teh frustration and anger.
