Leicester fans know the strengths and weaknesses of their team.

Last season only the top six clubs scored more than Leicester’s 56 goals.

At the other end, only four PL clubs conceded more than the 60 the Foxes leaked.

This season more of the same, 11 scored in their opening six games but 10 conceded.

They turned up at St James Park concerned about the frailties of their own side but then left, wondering just how bad Newcastle United are.

Just look at the comments below, any Newcastle fans who are already stressed should maybe not risk reading on…

Leicester fans comment via their top Foxes Talk message board:

‘Solid performance, midfield and defence looked good

Newcastle are shocking.’

‘Easy peasy. Newcastle are going down.’

Maguire was back to his best today, he’s been very poor so far this season but that was the Maguire of last season.

Newcastle are the pits.’

‘We’ll have far harder days than this. We were passing it around with impunity at times. But you can only beat what’s in front of you.’

‘Professional win away from home.

Easy 3 points.’

‘Easiest Win we will see this season.’

‘Was it my imagination or did Leicester just win a match playing in 3rd gear?’

‘Solid, great to get a clean sheet. Going the right way. Newcastle are really really sh.. mind.’

‘On the basis of that today, Newcastle are in for a long, hard, horrible season. Absolutely rotten.

That said, plenty of credit to Claude Puel and Leicester for a fine away performance – a very comfortable and enjoyable win.’

‘Ever so comfortable. Played lovely football and controlled the game. Even if Newcastle weren’t at the races. We didn’t have to get out of second gear.’

‘I appreciate Newcastle were horrific but a 2-0 away win in the premier league should not be taken for granted.’

‘I dont believe we will get an easier game than that all season. Newcastle were totally gutless and we didn’t get out of 3rd gear all game.

Not getting carried away by that win but a solid workmen like performance. My word how bad were Newcastle.’

‘Very comfortable, a clean sheet, more positive performances from certain players.

Newcastle were poor, they have too many Championship quality players.’

‘Great to see Mendy & Amartey – two players written off on here, getting a run in the team & getting better with every game

The front 3 never really clicked today……..luckily for Newcastle, who were terrible.’

‘Newcastle are in big trouble, you look at their side and it doesn’t seem too bad.

They created nothing, no impetus, no energy, no endevour; they’re winless and joint bottom of the League with Hudders & Cardiff.’

‘Difficult for Rafa working for that tight tw.t Ashley!!

‘We’ve had a touch having Huddersfield and then Newcastle, it’s given us a much needed confidence boost. 6 points, 5 goals scored and even managed a clean sheet. Both teams are a disgrace and this gives us a good platform now to kick on’

‘What a tactical masterclass from Benitez the genius.

Against a team who can’t defend and coached by one of the worst managers ever who has no idea what he is doing, his team had the impressive number of one shot on target (from 60 meters away).

I cant’ wait we fire Puel to hire him, he ‘s soooooo much better.’

‘Not quite fair though. I’m not a huge Benitez fan, but our second XI is much better than their first.’

‘Fairly pleased with that. Would have liked to have created more from open play but I’m not complaining. Maguire MOTM by a mile won the pen, goal saving tackle and scored as well. special mention for Mendy, superb, Kante-esque. If he hadn’t got injured Claudio might still be here. Chilwell got forward well  as well,Amartey did well and Morgan didn’t put a foot wrong.’

‘Newcastle have not allowed more than 2 goals yet in the Prem, and they have played Spurs, @Man City, and Arsenal. They just held Palace to a scoreless draw, far more than we have done lately vs. CP.

So… I get why people find this match boring, but Newcastle is exceedingly well-drilled defensively — they hunt in packs and were very effective double-teaming us when we tried to advance up the sidelines. They seem to set up for a draw then open up after 75 min or so to try to steal it, so there just weren’t many opportunities for us today, they filled space exceedingly very well.’

‘Did anyone see Merson’s comments? He was disappointed in Newcastle for not turning up as we’re not a good side…’

‘That was a simple stress-free afternoon.’

‘Wow, we managed to beat Rafa! Remember this day.’

  • robbersdog

Fair comments – we were shocking. I’m glad that Ashley was there to see just how desperate the situation is. Mind you, he was grinning like an idiot, so perhaps he just doesn’t care if we go down.

    • Kenny

He knows nothing about football, if he did we wouldn’t be where we are.

    • Kneebotherm8

      He doesn’t give a flying fck…….

    • panther

probably thought we were in blue

  • Kenny

“Coached by 1 of the worst managers ever”
tells you how much the planks in Leicester know about football.

    • Kneebotherm8

      Strange comment that one like……..

    • theoriginalbomberman

He was clearly saying that Rafa a so called tactical genius was outclassed by a team coached by Claude Puel one of the worst managers ever then went on to say he can’t wait until Puel is fired. Not a hard comment to grasp really.

  • GlasgowMag

“Wow we managed to beat Rafa” Nothing to do with our illustrious owner providing Rafa with a pen knife when he is going into battle to a gunfight!!!

  • Albert Stubbins

They’re right. Gutless is precisely what we were.

    • Kenny

Culmination of poor buys, a manager who’s handed in his notice, injuries & an owner that couldn’t give a Flying F

      • Albert Stubbins

        A perfect summary.

      • Big Al 1967

Fans at war with the owner, manager at war with the owner and players at war with the owner.
I have said it before but while the results are poor, it is the manner of them which concerns me more.
There is clearly problems at the club and I think we all know what the major one is.
        ASHLEY OUT

        • Ram Kishore

All the off field issues since the pre season is doing wonders.
Rafa, players , the club hierarchy all to blame?

          • Big Al 1967

However there is one common denominator

  • JohnCornwell’sHair

Ashley couldn’t give a monkeys if they go down or not, he isn’t interested at all.
He only turned up to wind up the fans.

  • Chris-Chapple

You are only depressed if you did not see it coming & i think most fans did.
i will never complain about Rafa because if he had even a half decent squad relegation would never be on the cards.

  • Paul Patterson

Didn’t take long for that title to go to their heads . .

  • SuperDesHamilton

It’s a shame but it’s true. A lot of these gutless players need a hard look at themselves. Their getting an easy ride at the moment because we hate fatty more but Diame, Perez, Murphy, atsu, dummett, Joselu all absolutely pathetic & not good enough to wear the shirt

    • Paul Patterson

      Harsh on Dummett.

      • SuperDesHamilton

I just don’t get how a left back who is obviously better defending than attacking can constantly find himself caught out of position so much. A don’t know how he manages it

        • Ram Kishore

Did u see Atsu doing a bit better than previous matches on LM. I wonder why Rafa keeps playing Atsu and Murphy out of position many times?

          • SuperDesHamilton

Where would you them play if you had a chance? A just think everyone zero confidence at the moment

          • Ram Kishore

Let’s hope the Man unted match will help turn our form, just like how our win against them
            turned the tide last Feb.

          • SuperDesHamilton

Fingers crossed, they aren’t exactly having the best of times let’s try capitalise

          • Ram Kishore

Did the fans forum meet happened?
            No talk about that

    • Malcolm Fisher

Kenedy didn’ t light any lights either. Another 1 season wonder me thinks.

      • SuperDesHamilton

That’s how much he’s contributed, I’d honestly forgot about him

  • HarryHype59

Totally agree, this side is woeful !

  • Ba ba.

    Agree with them all

  • Ash

Genuine Leicester fan here and I can’t say I’m too pleased seeing this article. There’s a lot of idiots who like to leave comments on the internet but you probably don’t see a large portion of us who are sympathetic to Newcastle’s situation and wish you well. I really hope your situation improves as you deserve to be in the top. Fantastic city and great fans.

As fans, we should be bonding together to help get rid of bad owners. We can’t do that if we’re fighting each other for no reason other than supporting a different team.

    • Andrew

      Thanks Ash.

Don’t take it to heart seeing this article. Mr Porter specialises in posting articles obsessing over rival fans’ comments, and also SAFC.

Any right minded person knows that you get idiot fans from all teams, but at the end of the day, the vast majority are realistic and sympathetic where necessary.

All the best for the rest of the season.

    • Gallowgate Dave

Cheers Ash but everyone in their right mind knows a clickbait article when they see one and you could make an article out of anyone’s support with daft/extreme/abusive comments from certain fans.

You are absolutely bang on with the bad ownership comment. I know one or two blinkered, chip on shoulder Smoggies through work who absolutely love Ashley but any right minded fan should detest an exploitative owner as it could happen to their club next. Proper footy fans recognise owners of any club that behave like Ashley are rotten for football.

Thanks Ash.Honest answers.Could you and your mates protest outside a Sports Direct Shop in Leicester and also promote SportsREdirect?
