Spurs fans – Very interesting comments on Newcastle game ahead of Saturday

Spurs fans have had plenty to say ahead of their trip to Newcastle on Saturday.

Newcastle fans might not have seen much money spent as Mike Ashley clicked up a £20m+ profit on summer transfers – but there was plenty movement in and out in terms of numbers, even though Rafa was replying on loans, free transfers and signings at the bargain end of things.

In contrast, Tottenham have bought nobody and sold nobody.

Going into the opening match, the Spurs fans main focus is on lack of transfers and which of their World Cup stars will play.

Newcastle supporters are often accused of going over the top but Tottenham supporters are looking pretty special with some of their comments.

Yes they haven’t bought anybody but they haven’t sold any either and this Spurs squad did finish third last season AND there is the small matter of them having nine players who were good enough to be involved in the final weekend of the World Cup finals.

However, nice to hear the Spurs fans are worried ahead of Saturday, here’s hoping their fears are justified.

Spurs fans comment via their top Fighting Cock message board:

‘Just found out that Toon signed Rondon. Hope he doesn’t bully us like last time.’

‘Think we’ll see maybe 4 of the WC semi finalists or finalists (Lloris, Vertonghen, Dier, Kane) in the starting X1 – in for their skill despite maybe not being match fit after one weeks pre-season training – but playing with 7 players who have had pretty much a full pre-season.’

‘No signings plus a loss to the barcodes and the natives will get restless.’

‘Dreading it. 90% of our first team haven’t had a single min of pre season.’

‘A nice sound thrashing for the horse beaters would be a nice Birthday present.

Kane to break his August duck.’

‘It’s grim, I wouldn’t start Kane.’

‘We need every damn premiership point we can possibly manage.

Kane has to start. I could see Dele being left on the bench though.

We know Lucas and Eriksen are fit. Son will play because he’s healthy and will leave for Asia cup whatever right afterwards- we’ll take his healthy minutes now thank you.’

‘The worst thing that can happen is that we lose this, as some of our fans will immediately blame the lack of transfers for it.’

‘Especially 5-1.’

‘No idea whose going to play…’s crazy that we are effectively being punished for having so many successful internationals in the side. Surely the start of the season could have been delayed by a week or two? With that in mind, I’d be happy with any sort of win.’

‘Thankfully we are not away at the goons or dippers, so we won’t be under as much pressure, as good an opposing team as we could have hoped for.’

‘Don’t want to think about the game. Not much to look forward to at present.’

‘Seems all not well in the dressing room (plyares refused to do media duties until bonuses sorted) at Newcastle.’

‘Good stuff- for us. We’ll be needing all the luck we can manage during this injury-pocked start to the season.’

‘Numbers of pairs of tickets now for sale on Twitter from people who can’t make it.

It’s as if there are masses who applied not knowing what weekend the game was to be played.

Or where Newcastle is. Still at least they’ve got their loyalty points…’

‘I heard we forfeit against Newcastle if we don’t sign someone so this is not looking good.’

‘I cannot see why we can’t start Lloris who is a GK so fatigue is nowhere near as strenuous as it is an outfield player and Dembele who was a sub/ backup during the World Cup.

Absolutely no reason why we can’t go with a Lloris Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane starting lineup with Vorm Aurier Alderweireld Winks/Amos/Skipp/Onomah, Sissoko, Lucas, Llorente selection for the bench with all injuries considered for our first game of the season.

I guess we’ll see Saturday but all really isn’t that bad.’

‘If Poch had confidence in Llorente, Kane might not start. But i know it aint happening.

After the transfer window closes, Poch might need to show better trust on utilization of squad players than ever before.

I am raring to watch the game.’

‘Wanna see a front 3 of Lucas, Kane and Son for this.’

‘Kane with a hat trick to end his August hoodoo.’

‘According to truthworthy sources, it appears we are going to align all our new signings in the starting XI on Saturday.’

‘Glad Toby stuck around for this season, but i don’t think we’ll see any of the English/Belguim/French guys starting. Guessing they’ll make up the bench.’

‘Perhaps we could just play one in midfield; Newcastle are in pretty bad shape.’
