Dubravka and Shelvey were the only 2 players of any decent quality. Kenedy was really really poor, it wasn’t just his penalty, Manquillo was just as bad.

  • We need Diame/Shelvey going forward more often and linking up with Perez/Ritchie just behind Joss/Rondon.
Joselu needs to have closer backup when being played long balls. He can’t link up play like this (he did really well yesterday and against Tottenham in my books).
Rondon and Muto still need 2-3 more games to get up to gear with how the team works.
I think we should start judging the team after the 5th-6th game.
We needed a win for confidence and Cardiff would have given us a huge boost in morale, especially being down to 10 men. Our defense was rock-solid apart from Manquillo (shocking display from him). Diame and Shelvey did great, and it all fairness, Cardiff’s keeper pulled two excellent stops to deny Perez.

This was as bad as I’ve seen in a long time, a dreadful game of football in my opinion.

Cannot comment as chose to work/attend work but by the comments and MOTD looks like it was a good choice. On the Kennedy kick, it was stupid and childish, however he may be subject to a 3 match ban as a result. Looking at his actions and hands to his head, he realised what he had done. Just thought if he had helped the lad up, apologised and then went to the ref and said I’ve been stupid and kicked him, it would have been dealt with there and then with a caution or a yellow, over and done with? Or could the F.A still have taken retrospective action???

Abysmal performance, and ill thought out tactically. The team and Rafa let down the travelling support big time. Unforgivable.
