Former Newcastle United winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni is currently out of contract.
The 22 year old became a free agent when his two year deal at Newcastle wasn’t extended.
The player is currently more well known for being at the centre of allegations against Peter Beardsley, than matters on the pitch.
That matter still not resolved, with the player now having left Newcastle and Beardsley staying away from the training ground until there is a final decision on the case.
However, maybe a bit of light at the end of the tunnel for Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, as Goal now report that he is on trial at Brentford and played in a friendly match earlier today against a Bournemouth eleven.
Considering that in two years at Newcastle, Yasin Ben El-Mhanni never once got on any league bench, even in the Championship, rumours of his next club were a bit bizarre, As the media claimed clubs such as Lazio, Wolves and Benfica were interested in the free agent.
If he could get a contract at Brentford it would be a great result for the winger.
He only ever played twice and that was when Rafa played a reserve side in the FA Cup against both Birmingham and Oxford in January 2017.
He showed nothing at all in those two matches and last season he was more often on the bench for Newcastle reserves than he was a starter last season.
He had only previously been on the books of non-league clubs Lewes and Farnborough before Rafa gave him a chance, as the manager brought in a lot of players at academy/under 23 level to try and improve the levels under the first team.
