The club have confirmed the new Newcastle United away shirt for next season.

A leaked image (see below) was circulated two weeks ago and this has been proved to be right on the money.

The new shirt is very similar to the one worn back in the mid-90s by Kevin Keegan’s team (also see below).

The new design goes on sale in early August, eight days before NUFC kick off their Premier League season at home to Spurs.

Newcastle United Official Announcement – Monday 9 July 2018:

Newcastle United have revealed the club’s stunning new PUMA away kit for the 2018/19 season.

Launched under #TheFabricOfNewcastle banner, the kit is a contemporary take on the Magpies’ iconic change strip worn during the 1995/96 season.

Featuring maroon and blue hoops, ivory shorts and maroon socks with a blue trim, the kit is complemented by a gold club crest and gold FUN88 branding.

For the first time, the players’ kit will also incorporate PUMA’s evoKNIT technology.

On the reverse, the kits will feature names and numbers in white.

The kit was revealed on Monday in a specially-commissioned ‘fabric’ illustration with several city landmarks as a backdrop, including the Tyne Bridge, St. James’ Park and the stadium’s Sir Bobby Robson statue.

A number of former players who wore the original kit – David Ginola, Warren Barton and Les Ferdinand – also feature, while there’s a special nod to the late Pavel Srníček, who was part of the Entertainers squad.

Newcastle United’s brand new PUMA away kit will be available at the stadium store and at nufcdirect.com from 3rd August 2018.

The Mag – 27 June 2018

A new photo said to be the new 2018/19 Newcastle United away shirt is now circulating.

Last season saw the club/Puma use a marketing gimmick of creating a new one-off badge for 2017/18, to ‘celebrate’ 125 years in the club’s history.

Now we are returning to the kind of of badge that has been used regularly in recent times.

This new image claimed to be next season’s away design, is said to be already on sale in Turkey, and appears to confirm the exclusive from Footy Headlines back in April (see below).

Two weeks ago, Newcastle United confirmed that they were expecting the three new 2018/19 strips to be launched in early July.

The players are back at the training ground on Monday, so feasibly they could be taking the official photos of the team in the new strips then, before an official launch.

This is the latest image circulating of the leaked new Newcastle United away shirt for next season:

The Mag- 27 April 2018:

This is how the new away shirt will allegedly look:

The more observant will have noticed that it bears a canny resemblance to the popular away shirt worn by Kevin Keegan’s side in the mid-90s (see below).
