  • SuperDesHamilton

Thought Monkseaton would have bought his usual 5000

    • Leazes.

What for Man United, Morpeth, North Shields and Newcastle….. he seems to be the loyalist football supporter the world has ever had ….to every club!

I wonder if the FA consult his diary before compiling fixtures?

      • SuperDesHamilton

Of course they do, just like Ashley consults him about his finances before spending any money.

He must spend a load of money supporting that many teams

        • Monkseaton Magpies

Yes got to Pitsea in Essex for the Semi Final of the Vase to see Morpeth only to find the game was switched to Canvey Island so hitched a lift on the team bus plus all the way home. Happy days.

    • MP01

      Sure didn’t you know he’s been a season ticket holder since 2000 B.C. ????

    • Monkseaton Magpies

Just the six plus my mate has his box.

      • SuperDesHamilton

        Who’s that, Ashley ?

      • Warwick Hunt

You’ve got more money than sense

  • Leazes.

That was a free advertisement helping Mike Ashley stay for the next decade

With the complements of the Mag (the voice of change)

    • Wor Lass

Its news about the club and the mag have to report it. Most of the regulars on the mag probably go to the match and certainly most of the writers do. I chose to stop going (but now I can`t anyway because I live abroad) but that`s just my choice. I wouldn`t criticise anyone else for choosing to go – it`s a hard habit to kick!

      • FatParosite

I openly criticise anyone who goes & still moans.

        • Mark Potter

Do you “openly” criticise? I thought Fat Parosite was an alias.

          • Warwick Hunt

Is mark Potter your real name then?

          • Mark Potter

            Yes, of course.

          • Warwick Hunt

I dunno sounds made up to me . Unlike mine which is completely bono fido

        • panther

          I criticise all who go

      • Leazes.

They certainly don’t attend…the main writer(s) Smithfield and Porter (Simon Van der Velde) is posting articles at the final whistle, so that is impossible!

I went back last year under the promise of a Rafalution and change…. it was a lie!

I will criticise those who knowingly are responsible for this mess of a club. Sunderland fans walked in numbers and it may have taken two drops but they are free of an owner whose goal for their club was to beat United….that was it….. bargain basement players and treat the derby like a cup final! Here we have Ashley who’s goal is to maximise advertising exposure at the cheapest price!

        • Brian Standen

And Sunderland now have Chas & Dave at the helm.
With about as much money as you or me!
Ellis Short gets the parachute payments as part of the deal…… even Ashley has more cred than those two charlatans!

          • MichaelMaximusMoose

Whom gives a Fling [email protected]@k about the Mackems
            the Pigs destroying Nufc

          • Brian Standen

Err read back ! It was your mate Leazes above who bought them into it! I just commented !
And clearly you only started following NUFC while KK was in charge , Ashley is just the latest in a long line of perpetually inept chairman/ owners!

          • Leazes.

What did he say, I blocked him?

          • MichaelMaximusMoose

That i only started watching Nufc in the KK era, so he`s wrong there & Fatso is just the latest in along line of inept chairmam

          • Leazes.

What….that’s the defence is it….’we’ve never really competed under anyone’…. he can stay blocked!

          • Brian Standen

If I’m wrong then my second point is even more valid – unless of course you LOVED Westwood, Forbes ,Mckeag etc.

          • Monkseaton Magpies

Did not know you were on Leazes blocked list you must be classed as a rebel. Maximus voted me top of the rebels by some distance he said will take that as a compliment.

          • Brian Standen

I don’t mind being blocked by buffoons

        • Mark Potter

Sunderland fans didn’t walk as a protest, they just stopped going and seeing their team getting beat. The players were poor and they had no confidence in the managers. There was no organised stay away. Most probably won’t go back now Short has left, even though they have probably found their level and should win a few games in the third tier. Certainly the club are not planning for them to return, having closed the upper tier.

          • Monkseaton Magpies

What the fans do not realise is that protests never work. You can protest as much as you like but at the end of the day you need someone to buy the club and we have not.

          • panther

rather my money in my pocket than his, id rather burn it than give anything to him

  • FatParosite

Save our club and don’t bother buying any….

  • Fireman Sam

Whatever happened to mike ashleys 11 purples philosophy? If we sell Ritchie we would struggle to name 6 or 7, our squad has been weakened by him that much.

Where has the TV money gone?

    • FatParosite

The TV money is being paid in instalments to the Mike Ashley’s stupid mistakes fund.

      • Leazes.

Yes that’s exactly what he’s done over eleven years…..sold players at a profit of £180m…..a policy which relegated the club costing it £180m, then stepping in and paying the shortfall in wages and adding it to money owed to himself.

        • Lostprofit DBC

Yes he uses relegation as a means of building up his interest free loan, I agree.

          • Leazes.

More lack or care than forward planning!

          • Mark Potter

He doesn’t. The £20m he loaned to pay wages during the first relegation was paid off within two years. The £15m loaned the second time is probably already paid off. Both were short term loans to the football club to cover operating costs.

There is a £129m loan which has been owed since Ashley bought the club. It has remained constant. This is not owed by the football club, but by St James Holdings. That company holds the shares in both the club and the longterm debt, and it’s this company which would sell the shares (if Ashley can find a serious buyer) and then use the money it received to pay off Ashley’s loan. It has no impact on the football club.

          • Lostprofit DBC

Can’t argue, you seem to know your financial stuff. Most fans just wonder how you can be owed money from a club that you own. Furthermore, how can the club be so hard up after so much coming in. No doubt there is an answer and you may know it. The bottom line is we survive on a shoestring in the area that matters, the pitch. Could he call the loan in tax free?

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

He could call in the loan tax free but not at anytime. He & St james holdings must give notice to withdraw the money but the majority is on a 12 month notice unless ownership changes.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

i don’t think the £15m will be paid back (anytime soon). When he says Rafa can have every penny, he means he’s not taking money away

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Why would he do that? it’s not the best way to make a fortune

    • panther

      his pocket like every year

      • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

        Except it’s not.

        • panther

          sigh, ok mash

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Look, this is one of those Mag myths, in this case perpetuated by dozy Jezza.

No money has been withdrawn from the club since 2010. Even that was simply a repayment of the loan made to the club to cover running costs in the promotion season. The Over the course of Ashley’s ownership, the cash flow between him and the club has only ever gone way, and it isn’t out of the club.

The overriding point is that there have been no significant cash outflows (but some inflows) and there is no large reserve of unspent cash.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

that game last night was shyte & the Pig can stick his tickets up his A$$

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

I don;t think he picked the side

  • Lostprofit DBC

Attendance at the match doesn’t add significant amounts to Ashley’s wealth, as TV revenue makes the gate money minuscule. Also it is probably one of Rafa’s only means to funds at the moment, along with sales. Ultimately though, it is up to the individual as it is THEIR club, Ashley is only the pantomime caretaker. I don’t go anymore but someone will have my seat. That is the way it will always work.

    • Leazes.

The income streams mean a heck of a lot more to the clubs balance than Ashley’s for sure!

Denying the club its own income is exactly the warning that Denis Cassidy warned his fellow Directors of during the Hall and Shepherd regime…. they were extracting about £5 for every seat every game….. and that’s the difference between a club competing and one pretending to compete.

      • Lostprofit DBC

Yes, behind my greatest club in the world loyalty and let the fans go attitude, I agree with your cynicism/ radical thoughts. You see many negative things which others don’t, many valid in my humble opinion. The Rafalution isn’t dead yet mind!

        • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

None are valid, Leazes’ constantly lies, he knows it isn’t true, he’s a cheap liar.

        • Leazes.

          Yes it is

      • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Strangely you are right, a full house every game very much helps the club to compete in the transfer market.

The fact that Ashley takes no wage nor dividends means the club maximised it’s finance to compete.

        • Warwick Hunt

He should be canonised as a saint immediately . Glory be Saint Mike of pukindefireplace!

  • Monkseaton Magpies

As one of the ones being relocated for three of my season tickets expecting a call this week to choose my new seats. It will not be till next week that most areas of the ground go on sale to the general public so be patient. Should be another good season so if in any doubt get to the ground this Monday to secure your ticket.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

As long as there`s loyal supporters like your good self Nufc under Ashley
      will wallow in mediocrity.

      • Monkseaton Magpies

Slight problem is that no one wants to buy us not even at £350m which is a bargain price.

    • panther

52000 people like you sports direct united isnt going anywhare

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

I’m going to wait until saturday, there is not much available right now.

      • Monkseaton Magpies

Rang them today and was no 35 in the queue so a lot of people on the line next time was no 34 so just hope they ring me as getting moved. Yes Monday for most areas of the ground restricted areas this week.

    • SuperDesHamilton

Surely being the greatest Newcastle fan of all time you’ll be able to pick your seat?

      • Monkseaton Magpies

Plenty better fans than me as over the years not got as much job flexibility mid week but you can be sure if I miss an away game it’s because of work but very rare.

        • SuperDesHamilton

That’s not true you make out you’re superior to all others.

  • Desree

BREAKING NEWS – Ronaldo is signing for the black and whites, Penfold has been spotted in Madrid.

  • panther

no chance, things have to do a full 180 to consider it

  • Warwick Hunt

A day ago ‘Mike ashley has the press and supporters where he wants them’
Today ‘season tickets on sale ‘
Well he certainly has the mag under control anyway

  • Toon

Yeah and The Mag writers were the first in the queue to renew theirs, pathetic
