Newcastle United fans are no strangers to feeble transfer stories.

Most are based on nothing/next to nothing and usually you get the feeling it is a case of speculating about what has already been said elsewhere, or simply inventing links to players.

However, some NUFC transfer stories go the extra mile.

Sunday has seen one of the best (worst), a Newcastle United transfer that can’t even happen this summer.

With a big headline though, it is probably the most read NUFC story online today.

Maybe the fact that the headline was all in capital letters should have been a big clue…’NEWCASTLE UNITED STUNNING MOVE FOR ENGLAND WORLD CUP STAR.’

The story (see below) is from “Kick Off” website and says Newcastle could be about to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a year-long loan deal.

The only problem with this ‘STUNNING MOVE’ is that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a Chelsea player and Kenedy is also a Chelsea player.

The Brazilian already at Newcastle on loan for the coming season and you aren’t allowed to loan more than one player from another Premier League club at the same time.

Good to see at least outsiders still think it is worthwhile making up Newcastle United transfer stories…

Kick Off:

It has been a pretty quiet summer so far on the transfer front for Newcastle…

Rafael Benitez has proven that he is more than capable of getting the best out of the players at his disposal, but the Spaniard could surely do with one or two additions if he is to build upon his side’s surprise top-ten finish from 2017/18.

Step forward Ruben Loftus-Cheek if recent media reports are to be believed, with the midfielder who impressed for England at the recent World Cup being linked with a season-long loan move to the North East.

A powerful presence in the engine room, the 22-year-old’s arrival could see Isaac Hayden following Mikel Merino out of St. James’ Park

Crystal Palace performed better across the board when Loftus-Cheek was involved for them in 2017/18, and that experience of regular Premier League football should be of benefit to the Magpies if they can get this deal over the line.’

Don’t be daft were never gonna pay for him

  • jack

It wouldn’t make any difference , you can’t loan two players from same club

  • Son of Wilt

I thought it was going to be Gareth Southgate.

  • Dave Pattinson

Cracking piece of ‘journalism’! Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. I reckon Ashley starts drooling at the mere mention of the word ‘loan’.

  • Leazes.

If you got it from NEWSNOW they have a button to block these sites like ‘transfer tavern’ and HITC… click the offending click-bait site and you have a choice Highlight publication or better still ‘Hide publication’.

They only exist to sell advertising…. bit like this site really.

Even if we could get him we would need to sell 3 or 4 players to cover the loan fee #ifrafaleavesidefinatelyleave.

    • Dillon Tovak

And give them back kenedy 😂

  • T2

Football journalism is and has always been terrible, it’s 99 percent lies or speculation. I never believe anything until I see player with a shirt or having a medical

    • Lewis SG

You are being optimistic with that figure

  • Jimmy_toons

So you’re writing a story about a non-story? Unbelievable Jeff.

    • nevfur

Every story about us signing anyone for more than £10M up to now has been a non story. Lol. Or is that us signing anyone

  • Desree

    Keith Bishop!

  • Kazie

The only way we can get him is if we buy him… Around £15-25million

    • Lewis SG

Probably twice that amount since he is an England international. You know how they are priced these days.

  • Tim Boddy

Has that rule changed recently, or am I really thick?! I could’ve sworn you could have more than one player from another Prem club. Has that always been the case? I proposed getting Loftus-Cheek on loan myself yesterday! : )

    • Tim Boddy

Well, getting him on loan for NUFC, not for me personally. I haven’t got enough space for him!

  • Peter C

Propaganda and disinformation master at Ashley Towers (Keith Bishop Associates Ltd) strikes again, but makes rookie mistake, regarding loan system.

    Give him his P45

  • Mike

can you recall the rooomer we were going to buy Rooney???? ha ha all it did was push his transfer fee up …

    • Leazes.

United have a reciprocal arrangement with several clubs which helps sell players, they use each other to push prices up…. Rooney well his agents are ‘triple S’… that’s Freddy Shepherd’s son, If you see Everton or PSG in for Lascelles it means the club have put him on the market.
