Newcastle United star Ciaran Clark has been punched unconscious in a Magaluf bar attack, according to reports from Majorca.

Local newspaper Ultima Hora say that the 28 year old defender was rushed to hospital after being punched in the face by another man.

The attack is said to have happened at 2am on Saturday at at Crystal’s Bar in Magaluf.

Clark was taken to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma.

Police arrested the alleged attacker and he made a court appearance on Monday, where he was bailed as police continued their enquiries.

The attacker is described by the newspaper as a ‘6ft 2in well built foreigner.’

Initial contact is said to have happened on the dance floor when the pair bumped into each other, with Clark then being ‘hit’ according to Ultima Hora.

The alleged attacker made off but then later returned and without saying a word, is said to have punched Ciaran Clark in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The report says Clark lost consciousness and was then taken by ambulance to the Son Espases hospital in Palma.

In court, the man accused said he was on the dance floor of Crystal’s and a young man had grabbed his chest and caused injuries.

The arrested man claims he was not drunk and that he tried to get rid of the other man (Ciaran Clark) by punching him.

No mention of the condition of Newcastle’s Ciaran Clark but presumably he has recovered ok.

At the end of the day he’s just a young bloke enjoying his holidays. He simply might enjoy the razzmatazz of it all and just got caught up in a to do. He might have even created it.
Either way it’s getting dealt with just like most others but no doubt the good old English media will turn him into some kind of unprofessional wayward thug.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

The Chron said – “was knocked out following the attack, but it is understood that he did not lose consciousness”.

Typical Ronnie reporting there. Knocked out, but wasn’t, in the same sentence.
