Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored 14 goals in his last 19 appearances for Serbia.

Scoring a hat-trick in the final World Cup warm up game against Bolivia was a confidence booster but in the opening group win over Costa Rica, the Newcastle striker failed to convert two very good chances.

Mitro’s overall play was very good though and at 7pm (UK time) tonight he gets another chance, as Serbia take on Switzerland.

The Swiss got a draw against Brazil in their opening match and earlier today, it looked as though Costa Rica would do the same, only for Brazil to score twice in added on time.

However, a win for Serbia tonight would mean they are through to the knockout stages.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is NUFC’s only representative out in Russia and if he scores, he will become only the seventh Newcastle player to ever score at a World Cup finals.

Altogether, there have been eight goals scored in total, by six different players who were on Newcastle’s books at the time.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is 22/5 to score the first goal tonight, so good luck and here’s hoping Serbia make sure of getting through the group stage.

    • Mike Adam

Yeah that clown would find something negative to say about Mitro no matter how well he plays.

  • Mxpx

I for one will be backing Serbia tonight hope he overtakes Ronaldo in the golden boot race but will settle for 1

  • Leazes.

He’s not very good but luckily he’s playing against Switzerland who might just make him look the part…..come on Mitro sell yourself.

  • Paul Patterson

    Mitro scores!!!

  • Lhc#Freetommyrobinson

Mitro’ s on fire your defence is terrified 😂 a love the kid! You watching rafa eh?!

    • 1957

Wouldn’t make any difference if Benitez was, he prefers players who run about a lot in training hence the Hoss was selected before Mitrovic last season

  • Dave Mitchison

Mitro could score a 3 worldies, deliver a baby at half time and find a cure for cancer and some on this site would lambast him. I really can’t see us signing anyone better than him this summer so maybe Rafa should try a little harder to work him into his system . Just my opinion.

    • Leazes.

      No

      • Dave Mitchison

No? Hardly a comprehensive reply Leazes

        • Leazes.

I’m just laughing at the commentator trying to pronounce all of the ovitch’s…..

    • Lhc#Freetommyrobinson

      Spot on.

    • Paul Patterson

Doesn’t fit the Premier-league one up front role we play.

      • Dave Mitchison

And yet he is the only front player in the Serbian line up.

        • Paul Patterson

          Different standard

          • Dave Mitchison

Are you saying that the Serbian team are a lower or higher standard?

          • 1957

The Serbian’s don’t park the bus, they try to attack not just score on the break

            👍

          • Paul Patterson

We may never know, but the Premier-league is a different kettle of fish..

          • Dave Mitchison

No there are half a dozen teams who are a different kettle of fish but the rest are fair game. It’s a bit arrogant to say that Huddersfield are a harder opponent than Switzerland.

          • Mike Adam

Well said Dave, 5 or 6 who are above the rest. The rest are nothing special.

      • steve

He is absolutely ideal for the one up front as shown for Fulham, Serbia and Anderlecht in the Champions league.

    • 1957

The Swiss defence can’t handle him at the moment, you’re probably right we won’t get anyone better the players like Jorgensen we’re being linked with aren’t.

Benitez won’t change his mind, parking the bus doesn’t leave much scope for getting wide and putting crosses in the box so Mitrovic doesn’t fit.

      • TheNutJob

        Jorgenson`s rubbish, they paid £2.5m for him & that`s all he`s worth

        • HarryHype59

Clarko reckons he is worth £18m. :-)

            he`s crackers

      • Leazes.

Its bloody Switzerland he’s up against not a premiership defence!

        • Dave Mitchison

You’re right I mean Switzerland are certainly no Huddersfield or Brighton are they

          • Leazes.

Just looked up some of their players and they are Serie a and Bundesliga quality….so how come a complete plank like Mitro can score?

          • Dave Mitchison

Maybe because he isn’t such a plank when the players around him arnt having to defend on their own six yard box and can support him.

          • Leazes.

Yes he is…. he’s just doesn’t have choices to make when he’s in front of the goal….. ah that’s the way to play him, he’s too deep here.

          • Dave Mitchison

Play a striker in front of goal, cunning Leazes.

          • Leazes.

It must have done his power ranking the world of good…. he’s still a brainless oaf.

          • Mike Adam

Do you have any clue at all?? It is amazing how these haters who supposedly support NUFC still don’t want to see Mitro do well even if it means a higher selling price, morons!!!

          • MichaelMaximusMoose

            Leazes is very cunning

          • Mike Adam

            What???????????

          • MichaelMaximusMoose

Serbia have much better players to support him than we have at Newcastle

    • Gallowgatefan

What are you basing your love for mitro on? What did he do for us that was so great?

      • Dave Mitchison

Mitrovic scored nine goals in a poor team in his first season in the Premiership. Dwight Gayle and the Hoss manage 10 between them in a season. He managed to completely turn around Fulham’s season when he played in a team that attacked. He scores regularly for his country and brings other players into the game. So if you look at him against our other strikers he is the better option. But it’s just opinion.

        • Mike Adam

Yes Dave, he is by far the best option. Some of the sheep though believe that Horselu has better hold up play and is better in the air. The second greatest disgrace of this year besides the missed penalty today, was a manager playing Horselu ahead of Mitro, IMO. All managers make mistakes!

        • Mrkgw

          Well said.

      • Dave Mitchison

What do you base your dislike of him on? Because if we have signed a couple of world class strikers to replace him then I missed the news report.

    • Geordiegiants

It just shows how low our expectations have got. Let’s just settle for a second rate striker and be done with it.
FFS that’s how we are in this situation, sitting at the match in silence doing fuckall about the fatcunt ripping our club to bits. You and the ten other up voters should hang your heads in shame.

    • Ba ba.

Agree… I thi k rafa is great but he’s got this one wrong

  • HarryHype59

Fatso will be slobbering over the extra money he can get for Mitro after his WC goal.

  • TheNutJob

    Defenders can`t handle Mitro

    • Gallowgatefan

Seem to remember quite a few prem and championship defenders handling him just fine

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

he`s not on about premiership defenders you facetious a $$hole

        • Gallowgatefan

Fair enough, my bad! Although at least I don’t think I can manage a team better than champions league winning manager

      • Mike Adam

Not this season in the 89 minutes he received.

  • DubBob

Mitro is by far the best forward available at a price we actually could afford if he was not ours and was available from another club, that’s if the fat controller would allow Rafa to buy him.
He is bullying the Swiss defenders and they look terrified of him!
Rafa has to make his peace with him and bring him back into leading the line for Newcastle.
I know he is unruly and does not train well, he does not follow Raffa’s orders but he is a raw talent that someone of the management ability of Rafa would hopefully be able to bring into the fold.
He causes mayhem wherever he goes, but he also does that on the pitch for apposing defences also!!
No doubt he can lead the line for Newcastle, we will not get anyone better for the money we can pay so why try!

    • Paul Patterson

So we rip up our tight defensive system for one man..

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

you mean the Big Bus & 10 defenders,
i support Newcastle but they bore the schitt out of me

        • Mrkgw

Agreed. Rafa is the best for us out there but his decisions iro Mitro are flawed.

          • Gallowgatefan

What are you basing that on? Metro has been patchy at best for us

          • MichaelMaximusMoose

He hasn`t played so how can he be patchy,

          • Gallowgatefan

Mate, he’s played 65 games for us?! I like his passion and he’s been great for Fulham and Serbia but maybe doesn’t fit for us

          • Mike Adam

89 minutes in the Prem this year, that is hardly playing Mate!

        • Gallowgatefan

          Then don’t watch

    • Gallowgatefan

If he’s so stunningly good why couldn’t he even hold the ball up for us and was obsessed with wrestling defenders

      • Mike Adam

He didn’t even get to play this season, 89 minutes in the PL.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

Mitrovich needs good wingers & a number 10 to feed him & that`s not going to happen at Nufc, the fans seem happy with shyte football so let them get on with it.

    • Gallowgatefan

These are the type of comments that make people label newcastle fans as ‘deluded’

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

No they are not, it`s what called telling it how it is,
Delusion is thinking we are better than we are

        • Gallowgatefan

No it is deluded because you think that we’ll be able to get 2 good wingers and a number 10, like we’re entitled to them

        • Gallowgatefan

Telling it like it is FROM YOUR LIMITED OPINION.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

Penalty, not given so whats the point of VAR

    • Dillon Tovak

Plus they said they’d be more on it after Harry Kane.
      Inept!

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

        Unbelievable

    • HarryHype59

Certain countries are obviously on a FIFA schitt list.

  • thewildchimp

Well, if this match isn’t rigged, I don’t know… Serbia can’t get any decisions in their favour. Mitro was hugged and was taken down by two players and the ref blows for an offensive foul.

    • 1957

Clearly the VAR officials monitors must have gone offline at that moment

      • thewildchimp

Just goes to show what a farce the whole system is.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

      Disgraceful

    • 1957

The Swiss have worked out they can hold Mitrovic and Herr Referee won’t give a foul they’ve done it all 2nd half

  • 1957

The Swiss have worked out how to deal with him, two defenders man handle him to the ground in the box… surely a penalty, not to the referee.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

      German Ref, enough said

      • 1957

The main VAR official was a German too

        • MichaelMaximusMoose

          Exactly, Historical discrimination

    • Leazes.

Same as the Prem then…. cant remember the last time we had a penalty

      • 1957

Surely you remember our Spanish superstar wasting the one…

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

Every decision is going the way of the Swiss, be hell on now

  • Mrkgw

Rafa’s decision to let Mitro go to Fulham looks ever more criminal to me. We contemplate selling him for £20m and yet, this regime are hell bent on cheap incomings. Meanwhile a section of supporters still think Mitro isn’t good enough. Why? Simply because Rafa says so. I just don’t buy into that and prefer to make up my own mind.

    • Come&TakeIt1836

If any top six or eight side were coming for him, I’d agree that Rafa may have this one wrong or needs to flex his scheme but they aren’t. If he has it wrong, so does every other top club and Rafa wants to play that level of football. The question, of course, is will he be backed to press on. We’ll soon know the answer.

      • Mrkgw

If a top six side comes in for him then we will rue the day that he was ever touted to be sold. He’s still young and learning, with his best years to come. And, already he is playing in a decent Serbian side at the WC. What is Rafa after? Oh, sorry, we already know that – Jorgensen. Cripes…. 😩

        • Billmag

Do you actually know that to be true about Jorgensen.

          • Mrkgw

Its widely reported. Do we know Rafa to find Mitro lazy in training? It’s all speculation and media stuff at the end of the day. We mere supporters pick up the crubs and pay our money to steamroll the club. Along with TV money of course.

          • Billmag

If you remember in January Ashley’s minions put it about that we where going to break our transfer record, and that’s the very people I think that put the Jorgensen story out I could be wrong but I wouldn’t put it past them. I know you have always backed Mitro nothing wrong with that, but right or wrong I will stick with the manager.

          • Mrkgw

No rights or wrongs Matey. Good that the sport causes great debate. Just a shame that discussions surrounding our club are in the main negative because of one primary factor. I remember those great days of the 90s when the back pages were littered with stories about the stars we were linked with. Granted, thats past now but, it was amazing. Ashley just doesn’t get it does he.

          • Billmag

Yep I remember them also but over the last 11 years there’s been to much doom and gloom at this club, nothing much to get excited about.

        • Come&TakeIt1836

I don’t think Jorgensen will ever end up here. I think he was seen as a step forward in the squad’s development process but they will try to skip that step now they are another window along.

As I see it, there are generally two main paths to the top. The first path is to be signed up as a youngster or late teenager due to level of talent and style of play…similar to Kenedy, Rashford, Loftus-Cheek, etc., etc. Mitro has missed this path already. The second path is if he had a season at a club a tier or two down where he turned everything into gold…then maybe someone considers him. Rafa is essentially saying he doesn’t think this is going to happen. Other clubs have yet to think so either.

          • Mike Adam

And I believe next season will tell us everything about Rafa’s decision on Mitro.

      • superalansuddick

Have any top 6 sides come in for Gayle or the Hoss ?.

        • Come&TakeIt1836

Right, so none of them are talented enough. They were just willing combatants and a better fit to work in the system as Rafa has set it up. We did end up 10th so that validates the choices at some level. Hopefully none of them see the pitch for NUFC in ‘18-19.

    • Gallowgatefan

But you’ve seen him play already so you can Make up your mind. However, your opinion is based on what you ‘think’ that mitro ‘might’ be able to do from watching him play. Rafa’s decision is based on training, tactics, how nitro fits in with the rest of squad and his assessment of performances.

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

Well that`s going just Hunky Dory with Joselu, isn`t it

      • Mrkgw

Yes, granted Rafa has seen more. But, he is getting some Rave reviews. Bit of confidence and that’s what you get. Maybe Rafa is failing the player. Lets face it, it’s not the first time.

    • HarryHype59

I am not suggesting Mitro is a top class striker. He is however, a class above the Hoss. Wouldn’t mind if fatso uses the Mitro money to bring in a better striker. We all know that won’t happen.

      • Mrkgw

Exactly. On that basis, we need to keep Mitro.

        • Geordiegiants

They are both pureshite, what thefuck is the big thing with Mitro? He has passion, he loves Newcastle, he can score goals in the championship, and shitinternational games, but he can’t do it in the premier league. How many chances does he or the Hoss want??
THEY ARE BOTH PUERSHIT. Total and uttershite.

          • Mrkgw

Never mind the ‘what’s the big thing with Mitro’. Nor, the ‘can’t do it in Premiership games’. Fact is that he DID do it in premiership games! Cripes man.

          • Geordiegiants

So why are NO other premiership clubs fighting over him?

          • Mrkgw

Give them time. We know that Fulham will start the bidding follwed by possibly Palace. He is getting rave reviews, its a matter of time now and the regime will be rubbing hands in anticipation. And what will we see in return? Likely another Hoss. For supporters, no good will come of this.

          • Geordiegiants

I’m not being argumentative, but this argument has been going on for years now and still nobody wants him, if someone truly really wanted him, he would be gone as soon as someone paid his supposed worth. Nobody has wanted him it’s as simple as that, and our fans are that used to purshit strikers they think he is good.

          • Mrkgw

You’re entitled to your view – no issues in that as I recognise that opinion is split over him. I do think however, that he is the best that we have at the club. Issue now being that its claimed that Fulham have an agreement in place. That, I thoroughly doubt.

          • Geordiegiants

My point being, if the half that think he is this super striker then why has nobody signed him. He isn’t fortunes @ £15/20m for a decent prem striker. So he should of been snapped up in the 2 seasons Rafa hasn’t wanted him.

          • Mrkgw

Thing is that I reckon he will come good. He has potential and is demonstrating that right now. If we allow Fulham to take him off our hands then our club will be in a worse state for it. As you have said, all down to opinions but you know mine – I only wish that Rafa shared the view. Different players and circumstances but its reminiscent of Bellamy/Souness.

    • Duh

It’s all speculation at this point. Mitro was not what Rafa wanted last season for whatever reason. He (Rafa) I would say knows more than any of us, 10th is a rather respectable position for a promoted team.

      • Mike Adam

        EVERY manager makes mistakes.

        • Duh

And you are there to point them out I suppose

          • Mike Adam

And you are there to point out that he hasn’t.

          • Damon Horner

I don’t think he is saying Rafa is right or wrong for not playing Mitrovic, despite any circumstances why that is, what he is saying is 10th was beyond most fans expectations so exaggerations like “criminal”, “disgrace” or “idiocy” aren’t really fair descriptions.

          • Mike Adam

Damon, I think you know where I stand. I only question Rafa’s treatment of Mitro mostly. I have never said that I want Rafa gone. I honestly do not believe that any fan anywhere in any sport realistically ever agrees with “EVERYTHING” a manager or coach does if they are truely honest, like some on here profess to with Rafa.

          • Mike Adam

Are you saying he never has?

          • Duh

            No, mistakes are inevitable

Original poster states the loan as “criminal”. The fact is Rafa delivered 10th, speculation is he may have done better with Mitro but I don’t see how you can argue with the judgement, overall, of someone who guided this squad and club to 10th with takeover talks, a bad owner, little budget etc, etc.

If he had relegated the team perhaps there would have been an argument there.

OP also states we are willing to sell him for 20m and hell bent on buying cheap replacements, again speculation but presented as fact.

I do suspect we will all be disappointed with the transfer window but it’s a bit early to state that as fact.

          • Mike Adam

I only question Rafa’s treatment of Mitro and playing a useless Joselu in front of Mitro in the first half of the season. IMO, at times, it was like playing with 10 men. My argument is that when strikers are being played match after match and not scoring as they were in the first half of the season, it is “insanity” to continue to play them and expect different results when there is another option on the bench(and sometimes not even there). This is and always will be my big complaint with Rafa. I don’t care that we finished 10th, Pardew guided us to a 5th place finish not too long ago, yet made many mistakes. When a team is shut out 14 times in a season (I think that was the # if I remember correctly) mostly in the first half something is wrong and needs to be corrected.
If Mitro would never have played for us and done exactly what he has, most would probably love to bring him in as our new striker this summer.
And of course I don’t agree with the “criminal” comment.

    • paul mclaughlan

“Meanwhile a section of supporters still think Mitro isn’t good enough. Why? Simply because Rafa Says so”
To be fair most supporters seen it with their own eyes.

  • Slim_Newcastle

I just don’t understand how the VAR system can miss those two players dragging Mitro down?! Very similar to Kane. How can this happen unless they are choosing not to see! As others have said the ref didn’t give Serbia a look in. Something not quite right.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

      German Ref.

      • Slim_Newcastle

It’s madness. Why bring in a system where there’s a guy supposedly watching for exactly these type of incidents, then act inconsistently when they’re happening. It’s not like it was even sneaky! What’s the point. Maybe it needs to be done similar to the scoring in boxing. 3 impartial guys with a buzzer flagging these things and the ref goes with the majority.

A disgrace. Then to top it off a foul was called the other way??????????

  • Billmag

Read a few posts on here you would think we have had a bad season, people on about parking the bus my god take a long look at yourselves, why not take a look at Manure who spent millions more than us on player’s, they parked the so called bus against there most hated rivals the Bin Dippers, do posters think we can just come back into the premiership and play champagne football that just won’t happen with the player’s we have at the moment.

    • Ba ba.

      Correct 👍

    • Damon Horner

That’s the message I was getting. “Mitrovic would be great if you signed quality attacking players in quantity”. Alright lads, remember who the owner is.

  • Ba ba.

Mitro for me should be kept and rafa manage him….. Personal differences should be put aside if they can both do a job… . He’s young and getting better… Surely raf can make him better again, the fans see it and even most world Cup pundits are seeing it .. .ffs let’s sort it out.

    • WildBill

Damned straight. 100% spot on. I’m in Rafa’s corner as much as anyone. But whatever striker he signs in the 20 million region (if that ever happens, sounds far fetched to me) is not going going to be better than Mitro. The kids here, work with him Rafa. Manage him ffs. Other than buying Sels and Joselu (he shouldn’t have signed that stiff on a free) this is Rafa’s biggest failing.

  • X,WHY,Y MAN.

Mitrovic is apparently not Premiership class which I have heard a few people say with one of my pals calling him an effin’ plank the other day !
He has now opened his account on football’s biggest stage, Meanwhile where is Joselu ?

    • Mike Adam

      Well said mate!!!!

    • Geordiegiants

Howare man! You taking thepiss or what. Just because he has played and scored in the World Cup doesn’t make him a world beater.

      • X,WHY,Y MAN.

So it doesn’t give an indication that he is not out of place at that level ?

        • Geordiegiants

I can’t bearsed doing a Clarko and finding names, but if Iran’s Striker scores in the World Cup, does he become a first choice premier league striker?

    • NoRafaB

Well said indeed! He could score a dozen goals, but would still not be considered a “world beater”.

    • Geordieguy

It’s classic divide and rule tactics by ashley . Who’s the best among gayle joselu or mitrovic ? None of them it’s a trick question. Who’s the tallest dwarf ? Who cares ? We’re fiddling while Rome burns. He’s got us arguing amongst ourselves and that’s what he wants .

  • TheNutJob

the Fat Gringo will now want £25m for Mitro & Rafa won`t change his mind on him so the debate is futile. wor Michael said as soon as he seen a German Ref that the Serbs would get nowt. he lived there for 6 yrs so knows the score with them.

  • Damon Horner

We sound almost certain Mitrovic is leaving. Why haven’t Fulham signed him yet if he has obvious quality and available at a modest price? Who knows, he might have returned as a player more compatible for Rafa who might be used more.

    • TheNutJob

Fulham are waiting for the manager to sign a new contract

      • Damon Horner

You’d expect it to be a boardroom formality to secure an available, PL standard player who succeeded on loan though? Rafa or no Rafa if we knew Kenedy was willing and able to come we’d half expect to see him sign because the potential next manager would appreciate him as well. I reckon he’s staying though.

    • thewildchimp

Because it would be crazy for us to sell before the World Cup. Maybe they’ve made the offer, but it hasn’t gone public. There is usually a load of bullcr’p in the media about players being watched, long talks, etc., but for real transfers it’s: ,,Deal secured, he is coming.” People don’t leak genuine transfer info before they are told to, otherwise they’d lose their jobs.

  • NoRafaB

A good coach is one who identifies the qualities of each and every one of the players he has, and moulds the team to their strengths, NOT the other way around. In Rafa’s case, he wants players to fit into his rigid sandbox. That’s a poor coach; rigid and not adaptable. Rafa’s a bit like Donald Trump to the deluded few, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.” I don’t get it. We have Mitrovic, IN OUR HANDS, a talented young lad of a striker, but we would rather sell him off to buy another striker to fit into Rafa’s park-the-bus sandbox? Sorry, but I would rather Rafa walk, keep Mitro, and bring in a coach who can extract the best out of our existing players, and one who doesn’t moan and groan all season about how his current squad isn’t good enough for the Premiership (must have boosted squad morale that one, and then he keeps playing the Horse). But I guess to Mitro’s detractors, he only played against Switzerland, a poor championship side. Never mind that he completely terrorised their defence from start to finish, brought his team mates into the field of action, was even unjustly not awarded a penalty, and oh yeah scored a goal too by the way. So yeah, In Rafa We Trust…

    • Geordiegiants

      What aloadofshite.

      • TheNutJob

Told you to put your wack on Mitro
        😂😂😂😂😂

      • NoRafaB

        Rafa? Yup, agree.

    • SuperDesHamilton

You’re harping on about what he’s done for Serbia, is this a Serbia fans site? No it’s newcastle that’s his club & he’s done the square root of f**k all whilst he’s been here

      • NoRafaB

Yup. He played for us for a full 89 minutes this past season. So yeah, I’m sure you would have done plenty better.

        • SuperDesHamilton

Came on as a sub elbowed someone in the face & got a ban…you missed that bit out. Plodder, Mediocre & unreliable but he ‘loves the toon’ so let’s have a love in

          • NoRafaB

Newcastle have had 22 red cards in the last 5 years. Guess all these players should never have been allowed back into the squad, especially “plodder, mediocre & unreliable” Mitro?

            Liverpool 1 Newcastle 1 (Fabricio Coloccini) – 4 November 2012

          • SuperDesHamilton

He hasn’t been here that long statto. Retrospective action for the thick elbow against West Ham when he didn’t need to. The fact he starts constantly for Serbia as well is thanks to the lack of strikers without two left feet who are Serbian

          • NoRafaB

And how long has Jonjo been here?

“‘That is just pathetic’ – Shelvey blasted by Newcastle legend Shearer over Alli stamp.”

But last I checked, Jonjo’s still with us. And rightly so, because he is fantastic on the ball, and has matured and managed to keep his temper in check.

But Mitro? Sorry. Off load him.

          • SuperDesHamilton

Less then Mitrovic by 6 months. How many goals & assists has Shelvey had compared to Mitrovic? Hence why he comes back into the team.

          • NoRafaB

By a full 6 MONTHS? Blimey! Guess that makes Jonjo’s stamp and temper tantrums justifiable. How many goals and assists do you expect Mitrovic to provide after playing for a full 90 minutes of appearance in total?

          • SuperDesHamilton

he Isn’t good enough that’s why he was limited to minutes and shipped out to the lower leagues. Whereas Shelveys descrepancies are forgiven because when he plays he produces. You see how that works?

          • NoRafaB

Nope, I don’t. Guess you and Rafa the Great are on the same page with regards to that. Messi’s a world class player – and yet, how did he do with the complete lack of support by his Argentinian crew? See how that works? A good player shines only as well as his team-mates, and a good coach knows how to play to their strengths. Mitro scores goals and almost single handedly brings Fullham into Premiership, but ahhh … he’s only scoring in the useless championship. Mitro scores in the World Cup, but ahhh … that’s because Serbian strikers have tables for legs so that doesn’t count either.

          • SuperDesHamilton

You’re comparing him to Messi 😂😂😂 what drugs you taking a want some

          • NoRafaB

Haddaway and loss yoursel. Knew you were incapable of seeing beyond the name “Messi”, to realise the point being made was that a player can go from star hero to zero without a support system built around. Simple enough for your comprehension, or you still can’t see beyond the name?

          • Martin Rooney

As a 20/21 year old foreigner getting his first taste of the high quality premier league a league stated to require experience. Nitro scored 9 goals (plus two incorrectly chalked off) during 2100 minutes of football (23 games) for a ramshackle team heading for relegation led by a wimp like Colo.
Enough said the kids a winner, was for us early on is now for others whilst our player. Its madness to let him go or not play him with the other options we have.

          • SuperDesHamilton

            Who’s that Nitro like?

          • Martin Rooney

It’s not a shock that having your argument disproven your only retort is to tackle predictive text software’s failure. Thick folk do that

          • NoRafaB

            Thank you.

    • Billmag

Well I suppose anyone else could have got us Promoted and finish 10th all without the assistance of the great Mitro, and you actually want him at the club instead of Rafa, I think Villa and Norwich fans would certainly doubt your dopey assessment.

      • NoRafaB

I guess someone by the name of Chris Hughton did get us Promoted, without the assistance of Rafa, and the season ended with us in 12th place in 2010/2011, 2 below the amazing achievement of 10th place under champions league coach Rafa the Great. Dopey?

        • Billmag

And Chris has won how many trophies Dopey.

          • NoRafaB

And how many trophies has Rafa won for Newcastle Dopey?

          • Billmag

            Championship trophy thick head.

        • Geordieguy

If memory serves me right Chris Houghton was sacked less than halfway through that season for reasons only known to Kim wrong un

          • Geordiegiants

I have been comparing him to Kim for years, and it’s a very similar thing the way he runs his business and private life.
His sons radio station was set up as a freedom of speech station, then he had things in place to stop anyone talking about him or his businesses. He is a dictator.

    • Vodkamagpie

So we keep mitrovic, get rid of rafa, and who would replace rafa, any ideas?
