All of the 2018 Summer Premier League transfers so far – Total rises to 18
There have now been eighteen confirmed incoming Premier League transfers.
This is now the 27th day of the Premier League summer transfer window.
The World Cup of course set to complicate things when kicking off in two days time.
Liverpool have been the big spenders so far, with Keita and Fabinho added to their squad.
Meanwhile, Newcastle fans were relieved to see the excellent Martin Dubravka confirmed on a permanent deal, after a successful loan spell.
This window closes in England at 5pm on Thursday 9 August, so 59 days of fun and games still to go.
Over in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, their windows open tomorrow (1 June) and run until 31 August.
So once the Premier League window closes, clubs in other countries can still potentially buy players from English clubs for another 22 days, though English clubs will no longer be able to buy.
With 18 PL deals so far, Newcastle are pretty much the average with one so far, but nobody is under any illusions as to just how much quality is needed to progress this NUFC team/squad.
Also, the established top six clubs don’t tend to make a lot of signings, more a case of spending a lot of money on a smaller number of players.
Whereas for clubs such as Newcastle still recovering after bouncing back from the Championship, numbers are needed, as well as raising the quality.
