Sky Sports Power Rankings updated – Only one Newcastle United player survives
The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published today.
The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League rounds of matches by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.
A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.
Three weeks ago there were an incredible seven NUFC stars featured in the top 50 Sky Sports Power Rankings, with Ayoze Perez in second place.
However, after defeat at Everton, Ayoze Perez dropped to fifth and overall there were five Newcastle players in that top 50.
Then after a second consecutive defeat against West Brom, Newcastle’s contingent in the top 50 dropped to three, with Ayoze Perez in 24th spot, Matt Ritchie 43rd, and Florian Lejeune number 50.
A third loss in a row has predictably not helped matters, following the 2-1 defeat at Watford, Newcastle have only one representative.
That consolation goal at Vicarage Road no doubt being key in Ayoze Perez staying inside that top 50 in 40th position.
The latest Sky Sports Power Rankings:
The decline in the number of Newcastle players featured, very much going hand in hand with the drop in performance these last three matches.
