My home is in West Sussex but heart still in Newcastle
I have supported Newcastle United since I was eight years old, standing in the Leazes End and going to watch them at Wembley in the League Cup final.
I moved down south and over the years have continued to watch and support them in away matches at various other clubs (I am now 65), nothing has changed though when it comes to antics of the owners at my club.
In fact, the last few years are the worst I have ever known.
Life was so simple years ago but now it seems all that matters is money, money, money.
I am fully aware that this is the situation in every form of life today but what I want to ask is, where is the loyalty?
Obviously Rafa understands that word but Ashley has no concept of it, the only thing he understands is today’s saying ME ME ME.
I am so glad I have lived through those early years and feel sorry for all our supporters, they are so loyal but get nothing in return.
I live in hope things will get better for our fans but I also know that whatever Ashley says, is completely not even worth reporting.
Well done the team for the effort this last season, and thank you to Rafa for sticking with us, but would fully understand if he left.
Yours – One of the lads and lasses who love Newcastle United, whose home is in West Sussex but heart still in Newcastle.
