The Tottenham v Newcastle saga had one final embarrassing extra.

The game was previously moved for TV back in March, only to be postponed due to Spurs’ FA Cup commitments.

Fans were then promised a new date would be announced by Tuesday 3 April only for that not to happen.

Then yesterday (Wednesday 4 April) the match was finally announced for Wednesday 9 May at Wembley.

Newcastle United releasing an official statement (see below), revealing that the match would be shown live on Sky Sports.

Now though on Thursday, it has been discovered that the club misled supporters, and the game is NOT on live TV.

However, it does go ahead on Wednesday 9 May along with three other postponed Premier League matches but none of them will be shown live (see below).

What an absolute disaster, after all of this delay you then find out the match isn’t even on TV and the question has to be why then this long wait to find out?

Why is this sort of thing a surprise? It’s just typical of the game today, in a few years the bubble will 100% burst, and the clubs will be doing their best to get the working class supporter back involved. Until then get used to it.

Yes,there’ll be clubs going into administration left, right & centre.

Originally my Best man had this planned for my Stag do weekend. Thankfully he changed it to the Huddersfield game instead as he thought this might happen. Could have been a right mess considering 22 lads came and my wedding is in April. Shocking how they treat fans these days. You can’t plan games in advance with any kind of confidence!!

  • Coach Clagnut

The utter contempt shown towards the fans is breathtaking. Sky needs to die.

It’s bubble will be burst soon enough by the internet companies. It’s just a matter of time.

Apart from the typical ineptitude from our club, there’s nothing to see here. The match wasn’t re-scheduled for television, it was re-scheduled because spurs take Cups seriously, unlike us, so was always going to be mid week after the initial postponement. The kick off time hasn’t changed, just the date. Apart from that I’m still of the opinion expressed on here that Sky are a pox on the face of football, and if they went bust I’d be more distressed quite frankly, at losing the eye candy on SSN.
