Rolando Aarons leaves Italy for ‘personal reasons’ after desperate loan spell
Hellas Verona took on Genoa on Monday but it was without Ronaldo Aarons.
The Newcastle winger has been on loan at the club since January, though he has had a pretty disastrous time there.
In the lead up to last night’s match, Hellas Verona announced via their website: ‘Absent Rolando Aarons, returned to England for personal reasons.’
Problems on the pitch are only minimal compared to these next few weeks for the Newcastle player.
The ‘personal reasons’ referred to, are that Rolando Aarons had to attend court today in Newcastle, as the trial starts for himself and six otthers, after an incident at Newcastle’s Livello nightspot back in 2016.
Aarons faces a charge of violent disorder and with the trial expected to continue into the middle of May, at the very least his current football season appears to be over.
Hellas Verona are currently second bottom and hot favourites for relegation,
Rolando Aarons only started five Serie A games and managed no goals or assists, his team scoring only one goal in those five matches and losing four of them.
They have only four games remaining to save their season and the final one of those is on 20 May, to make matters worse they face Juventus away on that final day.
Set to turn 23 later this year, Rolando Aarons has only started two league games under Rafa Benitez and difficult to see him having any first team future at St James Park, whatever the outcome of this trial.
