A Premier League weekend full of some great matches and outstanding goals, Jamie Redknapp now having picked his best 11 players from the games on Saturday and Sunday.

Newcastle fans made Mohamed Diame man of the match in our interactive player ratings – but it is another NUFC star who makes Redknapp’s team.

Jonjo Shelvey was second in those fan ratings but it isn’t him either.

At the back, Paul Dummett and then Jamaal Lascelles were next up in the supporter ratings, but neither of them.

Instead, Florian Lejeune is a bit of a surprise choice this weekend for Jamie Redknapp.

The French centre-back has made a brilliant return to the team.

With Ciaran Clark out injured, Lejeune came in alongside Lascelles and together they have helped produce three clean sheets in five games, with 10 points from a possible 15.

Wright on sky sports, me mate Alan was let down by the players
i fink it will be difficult for him to get another job in the premiership

  • Paul Patterson

Let them pundits vote for who they want. Who cares, it’s what our players do and how we see them that counts and at present, everyone is putting a shift in and we’re doing well . .

  • Wor Monga

He did well in that game, and he’s a quality performer, at CD who’d been scouted by Rafa over the years, and is why Man C signed him a couple of years ago, but he wasn’t a stand out for us against Huddersfield our midfield players were, and Huddersfield as an attacking force never turned up…

…why bother giving us Redknapp’s picks anyway seeing as there’s 3 West Ham players are in there…against Southampton FFS, which had to be their softest game of the season, and what about Burnley’s Ashley Barnes’s for his amazing goal of the season contender he didn’t even get a mention in despatches…

…cos it’s always easier for Redknapp just to pick the usual favourites!!!

    • Wor Lass

He wasn`t picking OUR best player(s), he was picking players for specific positions from the whole EPL. His opinion was obviously that there were better midfield players on the day than ours. Did you see Ali and Silva, for example? They were world class.

      • Wor Monga

Is that so?…then if that’s the case how come he has regarded him as playing any better than Lascelles, and then picked the lad for the right side of his central defence…or if that’s the case how come 2 West Ham defenders were included in the 11 when the opposition forwards coming at them were as weak as pisse…

…NO! he just spreads it round the clubs a bit to stop from naming all 11 players of Man C every week…because by beating all and sundry home and away they’re obviously the best team allround!!!

        • Wor Lass

Yes, that`s so. Maybe he wanted a CB who`s comfortable carrying the ball.

Nah … this is Fatty using his mates at Sky to manage Lascelles exit. Merson said it and now Redknapp is cushioning the blow by attempting to point out how good one of the alternatives is.
