The Premier League form table ahead of Newcastle United taking on Leicester.

When it comes to recent form, Newcastle have lost only one of their last half dozen matches.

Defeat at Anfield but two draws and three wins over Man Utd, Huddersfield and Southampton giving 11 points from six games.

Results that put NUFC in the top six of this Premier League form table.

As for Leicester, their form had dropped off but successive away wins at West Brom and Brighton have steadied things.

However, their past three home games suggest Newcastle can travel with some confidence of getting a decent result.

The Foxes have drawn their last three home PL games, drawing 1-1 against Swansea, Bournemouth and Stoke.

Of the last seven games remaining for Newcastle, only Tottenham have got better recent form than the Magpies.

In the full Premier League table, Newcastle are 12th and Leicester 8th, if NUFC win on Saturday then it would put them only five points behind the Foxes, a potential remarkable turnaround to the season under Rafa Benitez.

Here is the Premier League form table which covers the past six matches for all teams:

Winning breeds confidence but a guard against over confidence has to be ensured.
Just one more point and we can enjoy the remaining games.
I think we’ll turn Leicester over to take all 3 to keep the rollercoaster coasting.

  • Monkseaton Magpies

If we had kept the lead at Bournemouth and not given that needless penalty away at Palace things would have been even better. However it has happened all season and we are in a false position which I hope we put right at the end of the season. Ninth or tenth would be nice.

      Unhappy with 12th this season?

      • Monkseaton Magpies

No just think we are a better team than Everton and Burnley.

      • Jezza

Yes he is unhappy Newcastle are 12th because he is a Manchester supporting troll who hoped we would get relegated. He is also very unhappy that we stuffed his team a couple of months ago.

The better we look the less the Fat Lad will expend, correction he won`t spend anything

Tougher test altogether against Leicester…..I think they’ll score so we’ll be relying on our midfielders to hit back as let’s face it both Gayle & Hoss are not up to it….I’d try Murphy up front on his own…

Probably wish I didn’t say this, but I honestly think Leicester can be beaten. A draw would be a good result all the same.

      • Peaky

Yes would take a draw…a win obviously….but a point would be great.

RIP Ray Wilkins….thoughts to the family.

That’s very sad news. One of football’s few true gentlemen and a model professional who was still playing top flight football in his 40’s. RIP Butch Wilkins.

      • Peaky

Aye and also famously for his hilarious deadpan delivery on those Tango adverts.

        • Jezza

I remember him getting sent off in the 1986 World Cup for throwing the ball at the referee when frustration got the better of him. As a result he was somewhat unfairly made the scapegoat for the national team’s poor performances at the start of that tournament. In his next appearance for England later that year at Wembley he came on as a sub to a chorus of boos. Plenty players get booed off but how many can ever say they were booed on? A great character. Football will be all the poorer without him.

          • Peaky

            Very well put Jezza.

RIP Butch Wilkins taken too soon. Great footballer and a good guy. Condolences to the family.
