The Premier League form table ahead of Newcastle v Arsenal
The Premier League form table is looking good for Newcastle United.
In the last half dozen matches, Newcastle have four wins, one draw and only the single defeat at Liverpool.
With 13 points from a possible 18, it puts NUFC in sixth position in the Premier League form table below.
The five teams in better form are all in the current top seven of the Premier League.
The exceptions to that are Chelsea who in 11th place on form, whilst Sunday’s opponents Arsenal, are one place behind Newcastle when it comes to form in the last half dozen games.
However, their recent PL results have been helped by the fact that their last three matches have all been at home, to Watford, Stoke and Southampton.
Away from the Emirates they have been in desperate form this season and indeed have won only three of 15 games on their travels.
The last five away matches have seen Arsenal draw at West Brom, then lose to Bournemouth,Swansea, Spurs and Brighton.
Actually, if you take away those last three Arsenal home matches/wins, then in their other 11 Premier League games (home and away) since they beat Newcastle on 16 December 2017 1-0 at the Emirates, the Gunners have won three, drawn three, and lost five.
Arsenal have picked up 21 points from a possible last 42, whilst Newcastle (Played 14 Won 6 Drawn 5 Lost 4) have picked up 23 points since that mid-December meeting.
As for the other five clubs Newcastle have left to play…
Tottenham are at the very top of this Premier League form table with six straight wins, then you have Chelsea (11th), Everton (12th), Watford (15th) and West Brom right at the bottom.
