Poll results as Premier League supporters asked who are the ‘Noisiest Fans’ – Newcastle featured
A report called ‘Game Changing fans – the 12th Player in every Premier League team’ will be published in early May.
However, ahead of that, some headline findings have been released.
A poll of over 4,000 fans of Premier League clubs, former players and managers was conducted by Barclays and YouGov.
The research found that the supporters questioned, value playing with heart and commitment more than winning, with 28 per cent opting for the former against 22 per cent for the latter.
This is especially interesting for Newcastle fans at the minute, as there appears to be a massive consensus behind the idea that this Rafa Benitez team plays with far more ‘heart and commitment’ than most recent sides that have turned out for NUFC.
Something which supporters regularly mention, both on The Mag and elsewhere.

Those polled were also asked which fans are the Premier League’s noisiest.
Liverpool fans were placed first when Premier League supporters were asked which club had the loudest backing and whose supporters sing the most for their team both at home and away.
As you can see, Newcastle fans also don’t come out of it too badly…
Also, 81% of PL fans said they feel they have a positive influence on games, with those in the north and Midlands in particular thinking they make the biggest difference.
Interestingly, 86% said they believe their role is to support their team vocally rather than simply sitting and watching.
