The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published today.
The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League rounds of matches by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.
A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.
After this weekend’s latest round of matches the rankings have now been updated, though the eight clubs that played before the international break see their players having a big advantage, as it is Premier League rounds of games (the weekend of Sat 17 and Sun 18 March was seen as a PL round of games, despite majority of clubs not playing PL games due to FA Cup) – so if you don’t play then you only have the other four previous rounds that score.
Newcastle’s last four PL games that qualify (working backwards):
Newcastle 3 Southampton 0
Liverpool 2 Newcastle 0
Bournemouth 2 Newcastle 2
The latest Power Rankings as published by Sky Sports:
As you can see, Kenedy features at number 24 in these latest Sky Sports Power Rankings, his assist on Saturday adding to the two excellent goals he scored against Southampton.
Joining the Brazilian in these latest rankings is Ayoze Perez, his winner against Huddersfield helping to propel him into the top 50 at number 45.
