An exclusive claims that details of the 2018/19 Newcastle United home shirt have been leaked.

Last season saw the club/Puma use a marketing gimmick of creating a new one-off badge for 2017/18, to ‘celebrate’ 125 years in the club’s history

The exclusive from Footy Headlines carries the image below of what is said to be the new shirt and it sees a return to the normal badge of previous seasons in the Premier League.

The report adds that they understand this 2018/19 Newcastle United home shirt will be launched in May.

In the past, the team has often worn the following season’s new strip on the last day of the season, especially if playing the final game of the season at St James Park.

This is how the new strip will allegedly look:

So interesting to see if this is indeed the new Newcastle home strip for next season and if so, whether the players do wear it against Chelsea on Sunday 13 May.

Why such a radical departure from the current strip? Shocking!

  • Alex

Well, that wouldn’t have taken the Design Dept. more than 5 mins to come up with that. Still, nice shirt, though.

    • Leazes.

We seem to take an off the peg design rather than commission a designer, apply our colours and slap the badge on.

      • Paul Patterson

        That’s Puma for you.

  • Leazes.

Not much of a shock…the alternative to losing the 125th Anniversary badge would be to produce one for the 126th Anniversary of the name change….. but there’s nothing special about that number as its not divisible by 25.

They seem to have removed the black patch hurrah, I’m surprised they haven’t waited for the new strip to be ratified by the new owner.

Something to talk about other than the elephant in the room which is what has Mike Ashley done with the £100m tv money.

    • Leicester Mag

Greggs in Shirebrook apparently reporting stock outs across the full pasty range

  • Berkshire Mag

What happened to the rule you could only change your shirt every two seasons? I thought this was supposed to stop fans being ripped off every year for a new £50+ shirt? Especially as this one looks EXACTLY like this seasons, apart from the badge…

    • Gusto

It was in the Premier League charter, but not an official rule, so nothing to stop clubs ripping off the fans every season, which they eventually decided to do.

  • TheNutJob

why doesn`t Fatty use real barcodes, easier to scan each player see what he wants for them

  • Steven05

I won’t be able to get used to this design. It’s too radical, nothing like anything we’ve had recently.

Cost to make in Hong Kong about 30p a shirt selling price in the TAT SHOPS
    £50 – £60 no doubt.

    • Gallowgate_Gimp

Obviously. That approach hasn’t changed for years.

    • Weyhhadaway

All clubs do that, just we let the Tat shop keep most of the money.

    • Rich Lawson

Be nice if some of them had ”Help, I am a prisoner in a sweat shop” sown into them for sale in Sport’s Direct ?

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Our shirts aren’t made in Hong Kong. If you want something made cheaply, HK is not the place to go.

      • grantham mag

India then, by some 6 or 7 year old in one of fatties sweat shops, over to you BLOBBI.

        • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

I don’t think Puma use Mike Ashley’s factory facilities, I suspect they have their own. They are made in Thailand or Vietnam depending on whether you get the supporters replica or the playing kit.

  • Leicester Mag

Meet the new shirt – same as the old shirt. Won’t get fooled again (and again and again and again…..)

    • Peaky

There’s no ‘Substitute’ for people of ‘My Generation’…..

      • Rich Lawson

”I Can’t Explain” lets just ”Join Together” (with the club)

Think I’ll try and get in touch with Townsend and ask if Rafa can borrow his “ Magic Bus”… for the young uns under Pedro…a disaster….”A Teenage Wasteland”…will Fatso be still around next year ???? ….”You Better,You Better,You Bet”…..

Not if “Boris the spider” gets him 1st 😂😂😂

          • Peaky

            Aye….I hope not…there’s just some things “I Can’t Explain”….

  • Rich Lawson

Just lacking in character, why go for anything interesting when people will buy it anyway, couldn’t they have a competition with local schools to come up with something better than this and include the community who are going to have to wear them ?

    • Weyhhadaway

I agree, unfortunately that would require some thought, imagination even and a little bit of respect, have you seen any of those attributes in the last eleven years?

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

It’s rare (now) for the brands to let the clubs take anything other than their standard range. The 2017/18 standard adidas range is the same for all clubs, similar to puma. We get Puma standard with stripes, this 2018/19 kit will be the same design as any of the striped world cup puma wearers as this will be the showcase.

  • Weyhhadaway

Why are they calling it a leak, this happens every year to boost sales.

  • Weyhhadaway

Don’t get me started on how Tat Direct pockets most of that profit, not the club.

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

That’s not the case it it? Can you explain?

  • Sing in the Leazes

it would look better without the fun88

  • Weyhhadaway

Try not buying any merchandise till the fat lad leaves?

  • Andy Mac

Strange how this club loves to leak the new club shirt before ever considering new players ? Still the shirt is sold via NUFC/Shlte Direct so maybe its not that strange ?

    • grantham mag

I buy retro shirts from TOFFS, I wont put a penny into the fat lads pocket.

      • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Or the club’s? Makes you wonder why we have a smaller transfer budget.

  • JohnnyNUFC

Eeeh every year its the same colours, why not mix it up Newcastle try a saffron and fuschia swirl design that’d be gorgeous on Perez
