All depends on whether Mike Ashley wakes up one morning and decides to do the right thing

We are all left waiting.

Newcastle United fans, players, and manager, all can reflect on a job well done.

There are still five games to play and even a possible eighth place in the Premier League to play for – but the big question has now been answered, Newcastle will be a Premier League club when August comes around.

However, 50,000+ match-going fans, hundreds of thousands worldwide, 25 man first team playing squad, Rafa and his coaching team, all wait on one man.

Friday’s pre-Everton press conference had shades of Groundhog Day.

Rafa Benitez obviously pleased with the way the season has gone – but waiting to find out what Mike Ashley’s intentions are, particularly in terms of not knowing his transfer budget as yet.

As Rafa put it, he wants to know if the owner’s ‘ambitions’ matches the former Real Madrid manager’s.

The Newcastle Manager has a vision of turning NUFC into a regular top eight club that will also try and win trophies.

The power all rests with Mike Ashley.

If you thought waiting to see if Newcastle would stay up was stressful, think again.

The club’s owner can make or break all of our ambitions, when he alone decides what will happen this summer.

The season ends in 22 days time and in three and a half months time the Premier League kicks off again.

So much to be sorted and it could all depend on whether one person wakes up one morning and decides to do the right thing.

There is so much energy and positivity amongst Rafa Benitez, his playing squad, and the fans, to have a new ambitious owner(s) in charge could be like setting off the biggest firework Tyneside has ever seen.
