Alan Shearer was ecstatic on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle United running out deserved winners with a 2-1 win.

Interesting to hear what his Leicester supporting mate, Gary Lineker, makes of this one.

Forget the possession statistic, Newcastle were the best team for most of this game.

It should arguably have been more than a one goal margin as Newcastle created the better chances.

Paul Dummett survived a first half penalty shout but the game was summed up by the fact that the Foxes had only one shot on target, Vardy scoring from around a yard out when Joselu failed to challenge for a header.

Alan Shearer was loving it as Newcastle moved into the top half, taunting Match of The Day colleague Lineker with ‘Can we play you every week?’.

A massive result not just in terms of banishing any threat of relegation, but also showing that Rafa is capable of pushing this club higher with the right backing.

Alan Shearer:

“Toon Toon black & white army!!!

“Rafa Rafael Rafa Rafael Benitez!

“Can we play you every week?”

I take great exception to your comments on Ashley and Charnley. They don’t deserve to be called human beings.

To be fair to Moose Jezz, he did call them “odious” human beings 🤣😁

Calling them odious is fine it’s human beings bit that I object to ha ha.

Why would anyone want him out when he’s finally starting to do what fans wanted him to do in the first place.
He gets slated when he acts like a dummy which he did earlier on in the season and he gets praised when he gives the fans what they really want, which is entertainment by actually being more balanced.

You can see it on the players faces over the last few months as to how he’s changed things up due to him being criticised for being a mug.
