The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published today.

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League rounds of matches by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.

A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.

Last week an incredible seven NUFC stars featured in the top 50 Sky Sports Power Rankings and the updated list published on Wednesday morning, still features six Newcastle players.

Whilst Everton was a disappointing match both in terms of entertainment and the result, these latest power rankings remind us of the excellent previous form as Rafa’s team won four games in a row.

Ayoze Perez was in second place last week but now finds himself in fifth, having scored in three matches in a row before defeat at Goodison Park.

Sky Sports:

‘Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez (No 5, down three places) moved down the chart after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Everton, while Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen (No 6, down two places) also slipped after a 1-1 stalemate at Brighton.’

As well as Perez in fifth, Newcastle still have four other players in these latest Sky Sports Power Rankings, below are their new positions and in brackets where they were last week.

Jonjo Shelvey now 38th (last week) 15th and Matt Ritchie 47th (26th), Florian Lejeune 41st (32nd) and Kenedy 50th (35th) – Last week Yedlin was 46th and Mohamed Diame 48th but now they have dropped out of the top 50.

There`s been some flag waving & trumpet blowing the last few days on here and the infamous Ronnie.
A cynic would think Fatso`s sponsoring them

I’ve not criticised Ayoze since the turn of the year (until Monday), but its still incredible (and not believable) that he’s just 3 down from Salah and way ahead of the likes of Pogba, De Bruyne, Hazard, Kane and Vardy. I know its based just on the last 5 games but be careful what you wish for: 1) Stats are [email protected]@cks 2) A big wallet isn’t always the key to sustained success 3) even the big names have downturns in form and 4) the Prem transfer fees are out of control.

Graham it would take a total collapse and the worst hammering of the season for all 7 of last week’s featured players to drop out the 50.You should have been snapped up by The Sun months ago, can’t wait to see your ”articles” in the close season !!
