Which 11 players would you pick in the Newcastle team v Arsenal on Sunday afternoon?

We have put together a list of the 24 players who could potentially be selected for this game.

Rafa Benitez confirmed earlier today that he had a whole squad to choose from, with Islam Slimani now available after not being able to play against parent club Leicester last weekend.

Rafa Benitez press conference:

“Everybody has been training, so it’s good news.

“It’s always important to have competition but then you have to leave some players out of the squad.

“To be fair, it has been really good.

“When you are at the bottom of the table and start winning as we have been, you cannot wish for better things.

“We are doing well and hopefully we can carry on.

“In January, when we brought Dúbravka and Kenedy in, they gave us competition so everyone was trying harder.

“That was a key factor. The mentality is good.”

Newcastle are now tenth on 38 points, 10 clear of relegation and now clear to have a real go at the likes of Arsenal.

  • Gianfranco Shola

Don’t know about everyone else but personally I’d be keeping Gayle up top from the start, it’s worked fine recently so why fix it. Then if we need a goal or 2 in the last half hour give Slimani a go but I don’t think he should start tbh

    • Ba ba.

I’d chuck the Slimani in myself see how he gets on

      • Gianfranco Shola

Should never change a winning team especially after 3 straight wins, it’s bad for team morale however I do get the argument for Slimani. At least we have options that don’t include Hoss I suppose!!

  • Paul Patterson

Cut a long story short – Same team as last week..

    • thewildchimp

But Slimani to play for 30-60 mins.

  • mentalman

We’ve got to play the same team as the last few games, one one of the reasons we have been doing so well is consistency

The time for changes will be when we are safe

  • 1957

From what Benitez said yesterday it’s the same again… there’s no real reason to change

  • Mrkgw

Same as last time around with the exception of Slimani for Gayle.
