Sky Sports reveal 15 young Newcastle players will be leaving
There are 15 young Newcastle players leaving St James Park this Summer.
Earlier this week, the Chronicle named seven who were leaving, which included Curtis Good and Stuart Findlay, both of who had previously turned out for the first team.
However, Sky Sports have now revealed that their information is that the actual figure is 15 Newcastle players who have been informed they are no longer wanted.
All 15 are out of contract this Summer and will not be offered new deals.
The only additional name added by Sky Sports is Yasin Ben El-Mhanni.
The 22 year old attacking player was signed by Rafa Benitez in July 2016 but has been limited to only a couple of FA Cup appearances for the first team.
The young player made headlines when earlier this season he was at the centre of allegations against Peter Beardsley.
Yasin Ben El-Mhanni alleged that Beardsley made discriminatory remarks and also bullied him.
The investigation has still not reached a final conclusion and it is no surprise that the young player is being released after showing nothing to suggest he can make it in Newcastle’s first team.
However, it will of course also help to dilute the impact of any negative coverage for the club, if the player at the centre of the allegations is an ex-player by the time the investigation is concluded.
