Premier League table based only on 2018 games – Very encouraging for Newcastle United
The Premier League table currently shows Newcastle United in 16th place on 29 points.
The Magpies two points above the relegation zone but also only five points off the top half of the table.
An interesting table has been published now though, showing what the Premier League table would look like based only on results since the turn of the year.
The form over the past 10 weeks throwing up some very interesting outcomes.
All clubs have played eight Premier League matches apart from Tottenham and West Ham, they had a delayed game to fit in which finished 1-1.
As it happens, Tottenham would still be top of the form in 2018 with one less point, whilst West Ham would drop from seventh to ninth if docked the point from their extra ninth game of 2018.
Newcastle United are a very respectable 11th in the 2018 results table, with 11 points from a possible 24.
However, maybe the most heartening thing for Rafa Benitez, is that of the eight games played this calendar year, they include all of the six clubs who have the best form of 2018.
