It was always on the cards but now an official announcement had confirmed that Tottenham v Newcastle on Friday 16 March has been postponed.
Spurs have stated (see below) that the visit of Newcastle is definitely postponed and that instead they are playing Swansea away on Saturday 17 March.
There was brief hope for Newcastle fans on Tuesday night as after Son had put Spurs ahead on 23 minutes, Rochdale hit back and equalised eight minutes later.
In cold and snowy conditions less than twenty five thousand fans turned up at Wembley and the Rochdale supporters amongst them saw their team put in a decent effort.
After keeping the scores level up to half-time, only two minutes after the break the floodgates opened, Llorente putting Spurs back in front.
The striker then completed a quickfire 12 minute hat-trick and further goals from Son and Walker-Peters saw the contest end 6-1.
Spurs through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and Newcastle left kicking their heels.
With the weather conditions, Newcastle fans must also wonder what the chances are of the Liverpool match going ahead on Saturday.
