Newcastle United are in trouble with the FA.

The governing body charging the club with breaking rules that prevent anybody promoting gambling on the shirts of their Under 18 side.

No details of which match(es) are involved but Newcastle United have been charged with their Under 18s wearing shirts with the FUN88 logo.

The FA have given them until next Tuesday to answer the charge, with a 6pm deadline.

The first team and Under 23s (reserves) are allowed to sport the gambling logo, so an oversight from somebody.

Hopefully this will just be seen as a mistake and any punishment minimal.

FA statement:

“Newcastle United have been charged for their Under-18s team wearing football shirts bearing the logo of a betting company, in breach of the FA’s kit and advertising regulations.

“The club have until 6pm on 27 March 2018 to respond to the charge.”

It’s probably the BetVictor tracksuits that have really upset the FA ?

  • Lord

I fear the fine will be so punishing that we might not see adequate investment in the first team squad over the summer.

    • Leazes.

Well spotted. ..that’s the kind of chyte that I normally come out with.

The administration side of Nufc is truly appalling, HMRC all over the club,
the Beardsley saga & now kids wearing gambling logo`s on their shirts,
add the way the powers that be go about transfers & it`s total chaos & confusion.

      Porciestreet .
Hardly surprising then that Rafa wants to turn the whole place upside down.

I thought amateur clubs played non-league football. Maybe I’m doing amateur clubs a disservice.

Can anyone think of any more charges that you could level at United’s regime?

    1. Failure to comply with FIFA directive on holding Fans Liaison meetings.
    2. Failure to allow the said FLM as a body to vote for the chairmanship of the meeting.
    3. Failure of the Board to safeguard and maximise the clubs revenue streams.
    4. HMRC financial irregularities concerning player purchases.
    5. Appointment of a Chairman unfit to run a football club.
    6. Misrepresenting the mission statement ‘Rafalution’ by any definition.
    7. Calling itself a Football club contravenes advertising standards
    8. Leaking player targets to complaint Journalists when no undertakings were sought in order to sell season tickets, is mis-selling goods.

Thank goodness for Ryder and Jensen who can get them out of the clarts by spinning ‘positives’ at us incessantly!

      Leazes must replace Charnley

      • Leazes.

I don’t like the unique bonus scheme which rewards the Chairman for sabotaging the manager.

      • Georgia Peter

That’s being disingenuous to Leazes surely, as a retarded sand crab could do a better job than Charney.

It shouldn’t have been a surprise. I knew about this rule and I don’t run a football club.

  • Gareth Marshall

    Super amateur stuff.

    • Kneebotherm8

Charnley is a super amateur……………pay peanuts, relatively speaking, and you get monkeys…….he demonstrates this time and time again……..we need a change of organ grinder asap…….

  • Monkseaton Magpies

Pure rubbish political correctness gone mad. The rules are a joke most of the players in the under eighteen team could gamble online or go in a bookies or get there dad to put a bet on this site is pathetic.

  • gallowgate26

    Schoolboy stuff…

  • LA Toon

There should be no gambling logos on any club shirt. There is only one winner…..the bookie.

  • Paul Cannell

    It’s 11/8 we’ll get fined
